The AvonPark Chapel (formerly Kerrs Road Chapel) was opened in 1991, on the corner of Kerrs and Pages Roads, to offer a convenient alternative in eastern and southern Christchurch. The chapel is set in an acre of landscaped grounds and faces out towards Linwood Park. The chapel seats 160 and is designed to create a relaxing, comfortable atmosphere, in keeping with modern tastes. Extensive use of

warm New Zealand rimu timber, superbly designed stained glass and large windows give a feeling of both space and intimacy. Subtle lighting and full audio facilities give funeral services that special sense of occasion. Full catering facilities are available with a pleasant lounge area for a gathering after the funeral service. Abundant off-street parking is available, and the garden at the Kerrs Road Chapel is a constant source of colour and interest.

You are invited to Ōtukaikino Memorial Service on Sunday 26 February at 2:00pm, 985 Main North Road, Belfast.

PINK STAR WALK - 10 November 2018
Lamb & Hayward are participating in this year’s Pink Star Walk. This event celebrates survivors, remember those that we have lost, raise awareness for Breast Cancer and much needed funds.

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. I’m taking part in this year’s Pink Star Walk but I need your help to make a difference. Will you sponsor me? For example, $40 could fund an hour with an experienced breast nurse to support breast cancer patients in their time of need. If I reach my ta...

PLANTING DAY AT ŌTUKAIKINO RESERVE
On a pleasant Friday afternoon (7th September) a group of 12 staff from the Crowne Plaza spent a few hours planting about 160 trees at the Ōtukaikino Reserve. This was followed by an interpretative walk around the Reserve and afternoon tea – kindly provided by the Crowne Plaza Chef. This was a great afternoon and part of their staff “Green Engage Programme”. We look forward to further events with this group.

NEW BRIDGE COMPLETED AT ŌTUKAIKINO

The new bridge at the Ōtukaikino Living Memorial Reserve is now OPEN and the tracks have been upgraded to improve access around the reserve. We have installed a new seat along the track, as we are keen to create more places for people to rest and reflect while visiting the reserve.

Please note that whilst the upgraded track is suitable for shoes, the rest of the reserve is very wet due to recent rainfall and gumboots are recommended.

LAMB & HAYWARD RECOGNISED AS ONE OF THE TOP CARBON REDUCERS

In recognition of this great achievement, we have been awarded with the ‘Top Reducer’ logo to use alongside our carboNZero certification logo. It recognises our performance in the carboNZero programme and shows we are one of the top 20 New Zealand businesses actively managing and reducing our carbon emissions.

The carboNZero programme and CEMARS programme are the world’s first internationally accredited greenhouse gas (GHG) certification schemes under ISO 14065. They provide tools for organisations, products, services and events to measure and reduce their greenhouse gas emissions (otherwise known as carbon footprint), and optionally offset it. Enviro-Mark Solutions help us with the process of measuring our greenhouse gas emissions.

Enviro-Mark Solutions CEO Dr Ann Smith is fielding an increase in enquiries about measuring and managing emissions. Her organisation audits companies' emissions and offers the high profile carbon certification marks, carboNZero and CEMARS.

She points to the New Zealand "exemplars" listed in the infographic and says they're great role models for others worried about complying with future legislation around emissions restrictions and are well placed to capitalise on opportunities arising from a carbon constrained market.

Canterbury bodies among the top emissions reducers are the University of Canterbury (34%), Canterbury District Health Board (20%), and Lamb & Hayward Funeral Directors (13%).
