Mental health is a huge issue in our world. I am someone who has challenges with anxiety, depression, PTSD, addiction and chronic pain. I often feel a little vulnerable and fragile, and with a lot of challenges facing me currently, I can feel a little 'boo hoo', as I refer to these wee dips in life.
However, once I clear a little of the dark clouds, I can always, ALWAYS, remind myself of how privileged I am to hear about, and experience fabulous people's love stories as a Marriage and Civil Union Celebrant.
Thank you so much to all the beautiful couples who have crossed my path and put trust in me to guide you as you committed yourselves to each other, publicly and legally. I am beyond blessed and truly grateful to be surrounded by your love.
As I lift myself beyond the black cloud of depression, can I be so bold as to ask a favour of anyone who reads this post? If you have been to a wedding or vow renewal or naming ceremony, where I have presided, or seen me in my role as an MC at receptions or functions, (when the fun times really roll!), would you write a wee message about your experience? Any not so positive moments, perhaps you would send me a private message, rather than post in a public forum...LOL!!!
To anyone else who may be struggling with 'life on life's terms', and it all feels pretty bleak, I remind myself whenever I question 'What is the point?' - I have only ever come up with this answer: 'Love... love is the point'.
So, let us all look for the love around us, especially when the 'black clouds of self-doubt and sadness' (and sometimes even despair), engulf our spirit and our courage and our hope... Because of this, I am absolutely certain, love is the reason we are born as human beings - to give love and to receive it in return.
Blessings, light and love to you all.
Thank you especially, to those who have loved me in recent weeks, when I really haven't been that lovable!!!
Me te mihi, me te aroha ###
