📢 Tested Positive for COVID-19? Here’s What to Do 😷
If you’ve tested positive for COVID-19, it’s recommended you isolate for at least 5 days — even if your symptoms are mild. This helps protect your whānau, friends, and community 💛
🗓 Day 0 = the day your symptoms started or the day you tested positive (whichever came first).
Here’s how to keep others safe:
🏠 Stay home
No going to work, school, or public places.
🚪 Limit contact with others at home
If you can, sleep in a separate room and keep your distance. Open windows to get fresh air flowing.
😷 Wear a face mask
If you must go out, or are near others at home, pop a mask on.
📦 Get supplies delivered
Ask whānau or friends to drop essentials at your door — or order online.
🧼 Keep things clean
Disinfect shared surfaces like doorknobs, light switches, and phones. Do your own laundry too.
📱 Report your result
Let Health New Zealand know you tested positive:
• Online: My Health Record
• Call: 0800 222 478
You’ll get a text from 2328 or 2648 confirming your result and info about antiviral meds if you’re eligible.
💼 Need proof for work?
That confirmation text is all you need — no doctor’s note required.
Take care of yourself and those around you. Kia kaha ❤️
