It is with heavy hearts that we have to announce that the Pregnancy Centre is closing permanently as of Friday 20th August. Our Board of Trustees has decided to direct the finances to other areas of the mission.
We are so grateful for all our staff, volunteers, board members and those who have donated items or financially contributed to the work of the centre for the past 15 years. We have achieved many great things together and we wouldn't have been able to support the hundreds of women and families without you! And we will ensure that everything we have been given will go to a deserving home.
To the women and families who have come through our doors: you have paid it forward, come for Mums group, sought support and filled our hearts with so much joy here at the centre. We do what we do because of you. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to walk alongside you on your journey.
We don’t want to leave you feeling unsupported! We have been informed by another group that they are establishing ‘Pregnancy Choice Christchurch’. This centre, located in the city, will open in early September and provide information and support to women who have an unplanned pregnancy. There are plans to have an op shop at the front of their centre offering women's, maternity and baby/children clothing and gear (and general op shop items) as well as providing free pregnancy tests, baby loss support and more. During our last week of being open, we are going to look back at all the families, events, staff and volunteers who have been part of the Pregnancy Centre over the years!
