Scars are often judged by how they look. But what matters just as much is how they behave within the body.

Following surgery or injury, scar tissue can create restriction, tension, altered sensation, or movement limitations in the surrounding area. That is where scar work can be valuable.

Our scar therapy approach is a gentle, specific hands-on approach designed to help scars integrate more effectively into the body’s soft tissue system.

This is not about aggressive treatment. It is about helping the tissue move and feel better.

If you have a scar that still feels tight, stuck, sensitive, or restrictive, even years later, it may be worth exploring.

We’re excited to share that Restore is bringing part of our clinic offering closer to home for those based in North Canterbury.

From 21st April, every Tuesday we will be running a home clinic in Pegasus, alongside our usual city clinic service for the remainder of the week, to make it easier for North Canterbury locals to access treatment without the extra travel into Christchurch.

As movement therapists based in Pegasus, this feels like a natural step for us. We know the time, fuel costs, and hassle of travelling into the city can all add up, so we wanted to create a more accessible option for those living closer to home.

Our Tuesday home clinic will offer the same high-quality care you know us for, with appointments available for services such as:

Fascial Stretch Therapy
ScarWorks
Movement therapy and rehabilitation support

Our city clinic will still remain open, but on Tuesdays we’ll be working from home in Pegasus.

If you’re based in North Canterbury and have been putting off booking because the trip into town felt like too much, this is for you.

To book or ask any questions, send us a message or get in touch directly.

Most people train the core to resist movement.
We train it to control it.

Rotation isn’t the problem — lack of control is.

Here are some of our go-to rotational core exercises right now:

• Kettlebell Halo
• Lumbar Serratus Rotations
• Star Plank
• Collapsed Open Half Kneeling Torso Rotation
• Half Kneeling Dumbbell Deceleration Woodchoppers

Each one challenges your ability to produce, control, and absorb force through rotation the way your body is actually used in training, sport, and life.

This is core that builds capacity.

Not just stronger…
More controlled. More resilient. More transferable.

And this is just a small part of something bigger we’ve been building 👀

Liv has just finished her Oncology Scar Specialist therapist certifications with fantastic feedback from her case studies.

Tutor comment Case Study 1: Beautifully documented observation, I could almost see and feel the scar from
your detail! Also great to see you are using functional movement as part of assessment and
treatment. Great choice of techniques and the outcomes sounded wonderful on quite a mature
scar. Really good options chosen for the home exercise. I love that you are combining your prior
knowledge and techniques with the Restore method with great success.
Tutor comment Case Study 2: Another very well documented case study. I love that the HEP integrated your
movement knowledge with exercises as well as scar techniques. Its great you have the longertreatment sessions and are able to take such a holistic approach and finish with the fascial
unwinding. You are clearly a talented therapist, and your clients are very lucky to
have you. Keep up the amazing work!

Incase you didn't know, Liv loves scars and has been a certified scar therapist for 7 years now (originally trained in the UK), and works on ALL scars from C-sections to burn scars.
