Te Haa O Io

Te Haa O Io Reconnect people, communities and the environment back to a state of well-being through traditional Māori healing practices and knowledge. Mauri Ora!

Te Haa O Io is a small business run by Riki Tumohe Clark (qualified counsellor, cultural supervisor, matakite, and kairongoā) and supported by Raine Clark and Melani Burchett (kairongoā who provided services via referral). Our aim is to provide a space in which the community are able to explore and engage in traditional Maori healing practices and spirituality. Healing can take place on a number of levels, and Te Haa O Io are able to treat mamae (pain and sickness) via the Wairua (spiritual), Hinengaro (mind), and Tinana (physical body). The use of wairua healing and Rongoā Māori are important to us, as we use these particular approaches to enable healing to take place on many levels. We sell crystals and traditional Māori medicines to aid in your health and well-being. Te Haa O Io believes in safe and ethical practices to ensure best treatment. We will ensure that referrals will be made to the appropriate professionals and agencies so that our tūroro/clients best interest are kept at heart.

Kia Ora everyone! I’m gonna set up a raffle to clear out stock. I will make a separate post for this but giving everyone a heads up 🙂 I will have $1000 worth of crystals and rongoā products. $50 a ticket. I can either do 1 big prize or split it into 3. Am thinking 3.

I hope you are all well! We have been busy and recently went back to Bangkok for a wonderful holiday.

Te Haa O Io isn’t done, and we are doing lots of work in the background towards our research, PHD ideas, rongoā informed creative arts therapy group work, individual arts therapy and psychotherapy for clients, rongoā Mahi for clients and more. So despite not having live sales anymore, you can see we are evolving and growing in different ways 🙂

If you haven’t already, follow us on TikTok, as I post readings on occasion and other content. Would love to have you there! Keeping active across 3 platforms is quite time consuming but I will do my best to continue updating here xx

Noho ora mai and comment below if you are interested in purchasing a ticket xx Or 2 hehe 😉

PUNA KORERO: Our Story

Te Hā o Io was established in 2015 by mother and son, Raine and Riki Clark. The name Te Hā o Io was gifted by Io (God) through karakia (Prayer). Their vision was inspired by recognising theirs and many others journey back to wholeness through traditional Māori practices and Io. The purpose of Te Hā o Io is to offer traditional Māori healing practices (Io Miri) and natural medicines (Rongoā) that reconnect people, the environment and communities back to Io and their state of well-being.

Raine and Riki were trained and mentored as tohunga (Priest) by Tohunga Ariki Taputapu (Sacred High Priest) Billy Curruthers - Tuhua, a knowledgeable tohunga of Ngā Puhi decent. Raine and Riki are members of a collective group of tohunga who operate throughout Aotearoa (New Zealand) and Australia known as Ngā Tohunga o Ngā Hau e Wha.

Te Hā o Io operate a home-based clinic and various community clinics in Otautahi (Christchurch). Both Raine and Riki attend local events, host wānanga (workshops) and continue to train and mentor students into the Tohungatanga (Priesthood of God), and the values and beliefs of traditional Māori healing practices. Many of their students have gone on to open their own clinics while continuing to support the goals of Te Hā o Io.

Te Hā o Io means The Breath of God.
