Today marks the retirement of our long term mortuary care manager, Malcolm Burgess. Malcolm has been with us for almost 24 years, and in that time he has gained much admiration and respect for his professionalism, knowledge and skill. In his time with us Malcolm has played his part in caring for thousands of families. While we will miss his calm professional manner, as well as his sense of humour and his extensive practical and innovative skills, we wish him all the very best as he heads into this next stage of his life. We are grateful that Malcolm will remain available as a mentor and locum embalmer as and when needed. Thanks Malcolm for all you’ve contributed, not only to Rhinds, but to the wider funeral profession.

One of our talented service sheet designers, Fiona Erby has retired today after almost eleven years with us. Thanks Fi for all you’ve done to help our client families. We wish you a long and happy retirement

Sadly we had some vandalism at our London Street Chapel in the early hours of Monday morning, resulting in flooding of our chapel. We do have security camera footage of the person involved, which has been made available to the police. This happened just on 3am. Some property stolen from the neighborhood was also found on our property, and it has been returned.

On Saturday we will join millions of Kiwis and Australians in commemorating and giving thanks for the thousands of service personal that made the ultimate sacrifice, and for those that continue to put their lives on the line to preserve our freedom and way of life. Lest we forget

Super Gardener Phil Robbins picked up three trophies at the Beautifying Society Awards last night.
Through all seasons Phil ensures our London Street gardens are pristine. Well done Phil, although you are not one for the limelight we are all very proud of you and the work you do

Four of our team were out in the community today selling Poppies in support of ANZAC Day. They had a great time meeting and chatting to the many people that made generous donations to this worthy cause

A few of our team spent the day helping transport and load donated goods for a Rotary project sending aid to Samoa today. A lovely day to be out in the sunshine and helping people in need
