Naomi and Dawn from our Recruitment Team had a great time at the Otago Polytechnic Employment Expo last week!

It was a great chance to connect with students starting their journey into the workforce and to share the flexible, rewarding roles we offer in community care.

Thanks to Otago Polytechnic for having us! It was awesome meeting so many students considering their next steps and introducing the meaningful opportunities our sector has to offer. 😊🌱

Today we say a heartfelt farewell to Brenda, our Client Services Manager for Marlborough & Tasman, as she retires after nearly 13 years with Florence Nightingale Agency, and an amazing 47 years dedicated to nursing and healthcare in the Blenheim community. 🫂❤️

Brenda has made a huge difference to so many clients and staff over the years. She’s well known, loved, and respected by everyone lucky enough to work with her.

After decades of dedicating herself to others, it’s time for Brenda to enjoy some well-deserved time for herself. We’ll miss her so much but wish her all the very best for this exciting new chapter! 🚀🌟

Thank you, Brenda, for your years of hard work and compassion; you leave big shoes to fill!

Our Flexible Supports team had an awesome time at the Next Steps Expo in Christchurch last week! 🙌✨

It was a fantastic turnout; we loved connecting with other organisations doing amazing mahi in this space, meeting new faces, and catching up with some of our wonderful kiritaki.

🌈 As Pride Month wraps up, we're reminded that pride isn’t confined to just one month; it’s an ongoing journey of identity, exploration, and belonging. Everyone deserves to feel supported, seen, and valued, all year round.

At the Florence Nightingale Agency, we care deeply about the wellbeing of our staff, kiritaki, and their whānau, and we know that sometimes, having someone to talk to can make all the difference.

That’s why we want to highlight OutLine Aotearoa, an all-ages Rainbow mental health organisation offering a free, confidential support line & online chat to Takatāpui, MVPFAFF+, and Rainbow communities across Aotearoa, as well as their friends, whānau, and those who are questioning.

Pride is ongoing, and so is our commitment to inclusion, compassion, and care. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

OutLine provides rainbow mental health support throughout Aotearoa. Confidential phone and chat support, counselling and trans peer support.

🌈 It’s Pride Month, and at the Florence Nightingale Agency, we’re proud to stand with our diverse communities; celebrating the unique identities, experiences, and needs of the people we support.

We would like to highlight a fantastic resource from Gender Minorities Aotearoa: “Autism and Eight.”
This free guide offers a transgender-focused look at autism, along with eight conditions that often occur alongside it. It’s designed to help autistic trans people and those supporting them build a better understanding of these experiences and provide more inclusive, person-centred care.

Matariki is a time to remember loved ones who’ve passed, reflect on the year that’s been, and look ahead with hope and intention. It’s also a beautiful opportunity to connect with whānau and community through shared stories, kai, and celebration.

Matariki is a time for reflection, connection, and looking ahead with hope for the year to come ✨

This year, as part of our Matariki celebrations, we’re giving back to our local community by donating a kai basket to the Christchurch City Mission 🌿

If you’d like to contribute, we welcome donations of non-perishable food items. Please feel free to drop by our Christchurch office with any donations before Wednesday 18th June. You can refer to the food bank wishlist below for the most needed items!
