Your Words Are Powerful — Use Them Wisely

Ever told yourself


❌ “I don’t want to be overweight.”
❌ “I shouldn’t eat that.”
❌ “I’m such a mess.”
❌ “I can’t stick to anything.”

You’re not alone — but here’s the thing:

👉 Your brain doesn’t register negations the way you think it does.
When you say “I don’t want to be overweight,” your subconscious hears:
“I want to be overweight.” 😳
It clings to the main imagery, emotion, and identity in the sentence.

Every thought you think creates a physical and emotional response in your body.
Say something often enough, and your subconscious mind starts to believe it — and behave accordingly.

It’s like programming a computer — and your words are the code.

🧬 There’s science behind this:

Neuroplasticity means your brain is always rewiring itself based on repeated thoughts.

Your thoughts trigger hormones like cortisol or dopamine, affecting energy, cravings, and even metabolism.

Your Reticular Activating System (RAS) filters what you notice. If you think, “I always fail,” you’ll keep finding evidence that you do.

So instead of saying:
🔁 “I don’t want to be overweight.”
✅ Try: “I’m becoming stronger, healthier, and lighter every day.”

🔁 “I can’t stop emotional eating.”
✅ Try: “I’m learning to care for myself without turning to food.”

🔁 “I hate my body.”
✅ Try: “I’m learning to respect and support my body with love.”

Your thoughts shape your reality.
Choose them like you’d choose food for your child — with care, love, and intention.

"I've now lost 15kg, and what I'm most proud of is how I’ve changed the way I handle stress. In the past, I would have drowned my feelings in food, using it to numb out when things got overwhelming.
But this time, during a really stressful period, I stayed more in control. I listened to my body, whether it truly wanted food or not, managed my emotions in a healthy way, and despite of stressful times I kept a positive outlook and stuck to my boundaries.

Vision Over Mood – When You Don’t Feel Like ItđŸ€”

People often ask me how I stay so active, always out and about, doing all these projects.

Truth? I don’t always feel like it.
I have days when I don’t want to get up, go for a run, or hit the gym. Even though I love my work and hobbies, my motivation isn’t always there. And that’s completely normal.

But here’s the thing: I don’t let my mood decide my actions.

I have a vision of where I’m heading. A purpose.
And I know from experience how amazing I’ll feel after I move my body. That post-run clarity, the energy after training, the deep sense of peace after a hill run—that's my real motivation.

Mood is just an emotion, fleeting and changeable. If we let it control us, we stay stuck.

Think about it—coffee, food, TV, shopping, even other people’s energy
 all these things change our emotional state. So when we feel stuck or unmotivated, we can acknowledge it, but we also have the power to shift it.👊đŸ’Ș

Progress and growth come from stepping into temporary discomfort.
If we only act when we “feel like it,” we’ll never truly transform.

Trial on jogg& walking up to MT Herbert today, where you can enjoy one of the best views over Chch and Banks peninsula!
Unfortunately I started a bit late and the wind became rather stormy up there, so I decided not to go all to the top as I had bad earache from the wind even with oropax& headband and hives all over my body from the spiky grass.
Luckily you can enjoy stunning views already 30min into the trackđŸ€©
