* Somatic Mindful Psychotherapy is a client-led therapy based on the client-therapist relationship, with principles of mindfulness, loving presence, unity, organicity and wholeness. It is designed for those who deal with stress, anxiety, anger, depression, grief, pain, and psycho-somatic symptoms, want to build confidence and self-esteem, change negative habits and beliefs, and get more clarity and understanding.

* The Conversational Model of psychodynamic psychotherapy is a relational, flexible, jargon-free model of talking therapy. Clients can experience a positive and supportive relationship, which assists them to develop a full expression of themselves. It is dedicated to clients with a wide range of difficulties, including relationship issues, developmental trauma and personality disorders. Long and short term therapy.

Emotional Awareness vs Emotional Capacity

Emotional Awareness vs Emotional Capacity

Being able to name a feeling isn’t the same as actually feeling it.

Emotional awareness includes recognizing what’s happening:
“I feel angry.” “My body feels tense and anxious.” “I’m hurt.”

Emotional capacity includes awareness—but doesn’t stop there.
It’s the ability to stay present to and even witnessing what we’re feeling without immediately disconnecting—shutting down, reacting, or becoming completely overwhelmed overwhelmed.

Someone can talk about their emotions in great detail and still struggle to stay present when those emotions arise.

Of course, insight matters and it’s often a first important step.
But without the capacity to stay connected to ourselves when the insight comes, it can only take us so far.

In NARM, we work with both—supporting awareness and building the capacity to stay present to our full experience.

Parenthood/Fatherhood

"Men are biologically capable of becoming attuned caregivers. Paternal sensitivity is not something men either “have or don’t have” - it is something that can emerge through embodied relational experience."

From before their babies are born, men undergo serious hormonal changes that can powerfully influence their behaviour – with consequences for their child's wellbeing.
