Happy rainy 15th Birthday Body Wise community! What a ride.

When we started Body Wise in 2010 I could never have dreamed we would be where we are now at Burwood Health in our lovely premises, with the best team in town, brilliant referrers and fantastic engaged clients. We feel very blessed! Like any journey its had its ups and downs but I am so glad we have stayed the course!

We know that you have a choice as clients who who choose to trust in your health and wellness needs and we feel privileged that you choose Body Wise. Over the last 15 years we have been able to work with and help close to 4000 clients.

So despite the rain today we thank you all for being part of our journey from Gayhurst Road to Marshlands and now Burwood. Roll on the next 15!

Body Wise is super excited to welcome Alister to the team. Alister is a very welcome addition to the team and we are looking forward to his wonderful experience helping our clients.

Alister has been a front-line clinical physiotherapist for over three decades, including 16 years as a clinical educator. His practice is person-centred, and research informed. He has extensive experience in solving complex clinical problems with a combination of manual therapy, acupuncture, exercise therapy, workplace assessments and cognitive behavioural approaches.

He has a special interest in musician’s injuries, pain, and ergonomics. His joy of clinical physiotherapy is seeing people thrive.

Outside physiotherapy he is a part-time professional musician and music producer. He has three grown children, three small dogs, and an unhealthy weakness for chocolate biscuits.

Alister will be working
Tuesday 9am to 5.30 pm
Friday 9 am to 5pm

Some fun moments from the 2024 year at Body Wise. The gym opening, celebrating 2 years at Burwood Health, Ninas own space, Dry July! Tramps in the hills, Tina turning 50 and running a marathon and Kathryn completing the Abel Tasman!

Team fun Bowling and lovely meals out. Its been a fabulous year and we look forward to more memories in 2025. And of course all the moments working with YOU our wonderful clients!!

Merry Christmas all our wonderful clients. We have had another fabulous year at Burwood Health and thank you for once again entrusting us with your Physio needs.

We are open limited hours over the next 2 weeks and all 3 of us are back on board fully from January 6th. Have a wonderful Christmas and New years. Tina, Nina, Kathyn and Karen.

At Body Wise we believe its important as a business to keep doing our bit for the environment. We have recently managed to source recyclable head sheets for our bed which is a wee step in the right direction

I am excited to share that as a clinic we are now also part of the Trees that Count movement. We are planting 4 trees per month
Thats one for our of our rooms we have at Burwood Health.

Check our Trees that count. Its a great initiative!

Today is World Physio Day 8th September!

We have had the pleasure of attending our bi annual Physio NZ Conference here in Christchurch

It’s been a fabulous weekend listening to inspiring speakers on a wide range of topics from chronic lower back pain, gender diversity, concussion guidelines and osteoarthritis of the knee to name a few.

It was great to see old colleagues and be around like minded physios who are here for the betterment of our profession

There was many times when I reflected on what a privilege it is to be in a career where you our clients trust in us to educate, treat and give hope.

So happy World Physio day to all the Physios around the world and all my amazing colleagues. Thanks to our Body wise clients for trusting in us to be your physio.

The team managed a little social time in between lectures with a Rubik’s cube party and 1920s dinner!

It’s been a busy week at the clinic with clients back from
school holidays and a range of injuries keeping us on our toes.

Lots to celebrate this week with Kathryn back from her July Uk trip. Great to have her back.

Tina and Nina finished Dry July and raised $1183 for Cancer programs. Happy Friday everyone. With a token Dry July Kombuca.

Well its 4 days in and the Body Wise Beauties are going well so far into Dry July

The real test will be this weekend when we will see
1. Will it be a sad face for no bubbles OR
2. Will it be a happy face for waking up refreshed hopefully after an All Blacks win!

Well it’s been awhile since I jumped out a plane or did the ration challenge or something crazy to raise some funds.

So felt it was time! Have never done Dry July so it’s time. Dry July with a difference!
NO alcohol, caffeine or chocolate for July. Yes you heard right!! Let’s see how this goes. (Apologies in advance Lainz)
