A Big Thanks to the Inner Wheel of Christchurch West for their generous donation which enabled us to purchase two Tonie Boxes and eight character Tonies. Every Tonie character plays music and tells stories. The Tonie Box system promotes auditory listening skills, manipulation skills and encourages time away from screens. Tonies are a fun and interactive resource and will be a very popular addition to our library.

It was our pleasure to welcome Jaimee and Rachel who visited our library last week. Jaimee is from the Canterbury Breastfeeding Advocacy Services enlisting organisations that are breastfeeding friendly. We are proud to say The Learning Needs Library has met the criteria and is now is now a certified member as a breast feeding inclusive organisation.

Tickets now on sale for our fabulous Mid Winter Christmas Raffle. Tickets are $2 each or three tickets for $5. First prize Gift basket full of goodies including a $100 Oderings Voucher! Second prize Gift basket full of goodies including a $50 New World Voucher and Third prize Gorgeous China, goodies and candle. Drawn on 5th August. Thank you for your support.

This week is National Volunteer Week and I would like to say a huge thank you to all the wonderful people who give up their time and volunteer at The Learning Needs Library. We are truly blessed to have such dedicated and talented volunteers. Thank you so much, you are greatly appreciated, we could not operate without you!

Introducing Wilbur Wombat! Our newest addition to our weighted animal collection. Wilbur is 5kg and very calming. Come and check out all our weighted friends. They are ready for some cuddles.

Anaru (2641) and Charlie (10691) are playing on the spring bugs (3776, 8958). Spring Bugs bounce, rock, sway and wobble.
Develops balance and coordination while strengthening muscles.
Children love up and down bouncing movement.
Encourages active play.
