Majority of those seeking weight loss surgery have eating disorders gone undetected because they show up for weight loss intervention rather than eating disorder treatment, and there is no mandatory screening to check yet. Hopefully this is going to change and everyone will get equal opportunity for the heathcare and recovery they deserve rather than be put through further pyschological distress, nutritional deficiency, and maintaining the destructive viscious cycle. There are alternatives and there is hope for a better way.
