Canterbury Health Laboratories Canterbury Health Laboratories is a medical diagnostic testing laboratory owned by the Canterbury District Health Board.

CHL offer one of the largest ranges of testing services in New Zealand, and have extensive research capabilities. Canterbury Health Laboratories operates from modern well equipped facilities opposite Christchurch Hospital. It also staffs and maintains smaller laboratories and collection centres at Ashburton, Burwood and The Princess Margaret Hospitals. Canterbury Health Laboratories offers specialist clinical and medico-legal tests on a national basis to meet the needs of regional hospitals, medical practices, government agencies and workplaces. Daily requests are received to perform specialist tests from laboratories and workplaces throughout New Zealand
