We’ve been sold this idea that a regulated nervous system means you’re calm, unbothered, zen.
But that’s not what regulation actually is about. Regulation is based around building capacity to respond accurately without getting stuck in a chronic state of flight, flight, freeze or shutdown.

Your nervous system’s job is to keep you safe. And when it finally feels safe enough, you stop bracing. You stop managing how you come across. You stop forcing calmness when you want to speak up. Your inside and outside start to match. That is called congruence.

Research shows that incongruence which is the gap between what you feel and what you express - is itself a chronic stressor. It keeps your body in a low-grade state of threat.

You know you are in a more regulated state when that gap closes. When your actions, your words, your energy are all saying the same thing.

The most regulated person in the room isn’t the calmest. They’re the one who no longer has to pretend.
Calm is not the goal. Congruence is!

Last week I spent time in Warrandyte on a facilitator training diving into trauma informed bodywork, nervous system & breath practices, sensual embodiment, and energy work.

Where do I even start! 👀🥹

As someone who already deeply understands the power of the mind and how the brain influences the body, I wanted to go deeper into the body itself - to understand what happens when we create enough safety for the body to soften, unwind, feel and release.

Like many others, I spent years disconnected, resentful and angry at my body. Many of my experiences have led me really rebuilding a whole new relationship with it.

The whole week was made by the women I did the training alongside - each of us had our unique story.

It reinforced to me that women’s nervous systems (especially!) heal through connection and presence - (oxytocin)

Women’s nervous systems heal through expression and movement

I experienced how the body can close trauma and stress loops the nervous system had been holding onto for years

I learnt the importance of fascia and the imprints it hold. How de armouring our body creates so much more freedom for energy to flow. 

I watched women finally soften out of survival mode and years of holding it all together as they were safe enough to let go

I watched us reconnect to life force energy

I met new levels of my healing capilbiities and drew more on my intuition when my logic wanted to kick in.

I’m leaving with an even deeper respect for the intelligence of the body and the wisdom it holds! I will be honing in on everything ive learnt and slowly build it into my Neurospark teachings when it all lands right

I just love watching women feel more regulated, reconnect to themselves, and come back into aliveness!!

It’s less about being a ‘bitch’ (resistance energy) but more about a woman centering herself.

This is for you IF:

🗣️If you’ve been what feels like every practitioner and specialist out there..
🗣️You’ve been given a diagnosis or more than one but no clear road to recovery.

Here’s the thing - there is a missing link.

Our bodies are designed to respond to threats with the fight or flight response, but modern stressors mean that this response can be constantly triggered and get stuck on. This ongoing stress (real or percieved), exhausts us emotionally and physically because our bodies don’t get a chance to go into relax and repair mode (parasympathetic mode) which is CRUCIAL for healing.

So where can you start?

🧠Learn to retrain the brain through neuroplasticity, and rewire subconscious beliefs
🧠Learn different ways to ‘respond’ to symptoms when there
🧠 Start signalling safety to the nervous system
🧠Practice self compassion
🧠Learn how to process and express emotions from the past that are keeping the nervous system in a stress response

London🇬🇧 Reconnecting with old friends, learning, working, exploring & LIVING 🧡

Memories that continue to remind me of my ability to be with myself (yes solo travel can be very confronting at times!), embrace change, take opportunities & TRUST that life has my back.

These are strengths that have ONLY come from moving through my hardest seasons & lots of nervous system work. The more we can build trust in the unknown, the more magical life can become 🤌🏼
