The focus is wellbeing of body, mind and spirit to enhance peace, happiness and freedom.
I was gifted the name Atmavidya - Atma means soul or ‘light of consciousness’ and Vidya is a wisdom to be understood, imbibed and expressed in life.
I came to yoga in my early 30s when the practices helped me find the way back to wellbeing, in the face of challenging circumstances. Yoga gave the strength and courage to face my problems and a way forward with healthy life choices.
Over the years I have explored many spiritual and personal development pathways. I was looking for a way that includes everyone. For me, Yoga is this.
I am grateful for the privilege of being able to share the practices that have helped me so much in my life, including
· Easeful, mindful postures known as asana
· Awareness of breath and breathing practices known as pranayama
· Deep relaxation known as yoga nidra
· Meditation
· Sacred singing together known as kirtan
· Sacred sounds and chanting known as mantra
· Living yoga in daily life known as karma yoga
Honouring the great wisdom traditions, I welcome the opportunity to share ancient practices of Yoga and Meditation that allow the natural inherent goodness, wisdom, beauty, harmony, joy and kindness to be expressed in our lives.
I delight in the yoga that can be practiced by every body, irrespective of the level of mobility (or apparent capacity to practice). I trust in the way the practices help us all to live with more naturalness and balance, even in the most challenging circumstances.
