We provide state-of-the-art facilities including four operating theatres, a 12-bed recovery area, 22 overnight suites and two day stay lounges. At Forté Health we offer world-leading surgical care for a range of specialties including gynaecology, urology, orthopaedics, oral and dental and otolaryngology (ENT). Recently, 42 of our team members laced up and took on the City2Surf together and what a day it was.
With cracking weather, great energy, and plenty of encouragement along the way, it was all about showing up, supporting one another, and enjoying the experience as a team.

Events like this are a great reminder of how good movement can be for both physical and mental wellbeing, and how much better it feels when you do it together. We are looking forward to doing it all again next year 💚💪.

We’re pleased to share that Forté Health has once again met the requirements for Toitū Enviromark Gold certification. That makes it our sixth year in a row!

This year’s audit recognised the steady progress we’re making to improve our Environmental Management System, with no corrective actions raised. We’re thankful to our staff, partners, and community for the ongoing care they bring to this mahi. And a big thank you to the Toitū team for their ongoing support

Sustainability is everyone’s opportunity to do things better and smarter. We’re proud to be doing just that.

What happens when you ask a team to hop on their bikes for a good cause? 🚲 A whole lot of kilometres and even more impact 💚

Recently, the Forté Health team took part in Love to Ride NZ, a nationwide challenge that encourages workplaces to get cycling, whether it’s for commuting, fitness, or fun. Every ride counts, and together our team clocked up an incredible 8164km.

A special shoutout to Linda Rowe, Danny Rood and Robyn Cumings for going above and beyond!

💚 Linda’s total: 1001km
💚 Danny’s total: 612km
💚 Robyn’s total: 525km.

The whole team really rose to the challenge, and we were able to raise $1600 to split between two charities
💚 $1000 to RAD Bikes
💚 $600 to Child Cancer Foundation

Great for wellbeing, great for the planet, and plenty more benefits...

✅ Four-year recertification achieved.

Following our November 2025 audit against Ngā Paerewa Health and Disability Services Standard, Forté Health has achieved four-year Ministry of Health recertification – the highest certification period available, a rare and well-deserved attainment. Auditors described Forté Health as “magnificent”, “collaborative” and stated that no clinical areas for improvement were found. All seven of our continuous improvement (CQI) submissions were recognised. This result reflects the dedication of our staff and medical specialists, our strong systems and, most importantly, our commitment to delivering safe, high-quality care for our patients.

Our Quality team pictured (L-R): Penny Smith, Quality Administrator, Robyn Cumings, Clinical and Risk Safety Quality Manager, Nikki Hunter, Quality and Health & Safety Coordinator, and Jill Gerken, Infection Prevention and Control Coordinator.

A huge thank you to our incredible Forté Health team. 👏

Happy International Women's Day 💚

On Friday our team took a moment to connect with our friends at Oxford Women's Health, honouring the incredible women who’ve shaped our perspectives and supported our journeys.

"We had a great morning getting to know each other better, putting faces to familiar names, and sharing thoughtful messages and insights."

Forté Hospital is proud to support greater access to Rongoā Māori for our team, acknowledging the vital role cultural wellbeing plays in holistic health. Rongoā Māori is a traditional healing system passed down through generations, offering practices such as mirimiri, rongoā rākau, wairua support, and therapeutic kōrero. Employees can access this service through the EAP National Support Centre.

Our focus is on providing care that’s culturally informed, accessible, and meaningful for our community ❤️🖤🤍

Mike our CEO, and Ange, our Hospital Manager, recently took a break from business to do some weaving for our Tukutuku feature wall panel, a collaborative artwork project for the YouthHub CHCH atrium. We're proud supporters of Youth Hub Christchurch, New Zealand's first purpose-built Youth Hub with supported housing facilities. 2026 is set to be a big year for the hub with plenty of exciting milestones ahead.

Supporting healthier people and a healthier planet is at the heart of what we do at Forté Health. Introducing Workride has been a simple, meaningful way to help our team choose active transport, reduce emissions, and enjoy a more affordable commute. Seeing so many of our kaimahi take up cycling over the past nine months has been incredible 💚

Leading from the front, Forté Gynaecology & General Theatre Team Leader Katrina Jolly spearheaded the inaugural gynaecology symposium at Forté Health last year.

A collaborative event bringing together Health Care Professionals including nurses, gynaecology outpatient staff from across sector organisations, the focus was on building knowledge and capability in gynaecology.

With topics ranging from menopause management and managing gynaecological conditions with the latest diagnostic and treatment strategies, through to the role of the anaesthetist in gynaecology surgery, the symposium was enthusiastically received.

“I was regularly approached by members of the Gynaecology team asking about upcoming study days or conferences they could attend. This highlighted a clear gap in accessible professional development for staff working in women’s health."

A special thank you to Pharmaco's sponsorship and the support from medical specialists and professionals in the field, including Dr Janene Brown, Dr Olivia Smart, Dr Rachelle Williamson, Niamh Clerkin, Jo Hopkinson-Haigh and Elaine Baxter.
