A pause I never planned… 🤍
Two spinal surgeries, six weeks away from the business I love, and a whole new understanding of slowing down.
On the 1st of March I was playing with the girls one morning, jumped onto a bean bag and landed wrong. I had immediate pain in my right side but wrote it off as a really bad pulled muscle. Worked the week, but by that Sunday I couldn’t walk without crying in pain. Ended up at A and E, spent three weeks in hospital with a failed CT guided steroid injection and an operation on my spine which ended up increasing my pain and numbness down my right leg.
Had a second spinal surgery to remove part of the disc and spinal bone which was squashing my nerves. I’m now home and recovering. I am so so thankful to all my friends, family & clients who have cooked meals, brought coffee, visited, spoilt the girls and helped tidy.
God I miss working, I miss being able to stand and walk, sit on the floor and play with my girls, get dressed without pain and just do everything I used to be able to.
At this stage I have another six weeks off work, and with moving into our new home & studio (hopefully in 4 weeks) it’s crazy to think my first day back at work will be in the new studio.
So, thank you to everyone who has helped me and my family over the last four weeks. And thank you to everyone who has purchased a raffle entry to our amazing hampers. These hampers are full of skin care, goodies & treats and each dollar goes towards my business bills while I am off work.
Bring on recovery so I can go back to doing what I love and being able to play with the girls. Massive thank you to my husband who has been holding down the fort and caring for our kids 24/7 🤍
