I have worked in the health and fitness industry for over 14 years in a variety of roles, with the last 10 years of that working as a Personal Trainer. With over 10 years working with clients from all walks of life, it has become abundantly clear to me, that while exercise is an awesome trigger for change and transformation, it was not the only aspect that needed to be looked at for a person to achieve their true potential. While analysing, learning and reflecting over time, I have realised that a person is generally looking for balance. And I know “Wellness” is bandied around as the marketing word of choice right now, but what it means to me and Be Health and Wellness, is to be balanced in our Body, Mind and Spirit. For our Body it can be moving more, moving less, moving with more purpose, moving to fix and heal. For our Mind, it can be learning more, calming our minds, combating negative self-talk, unraveling our thought patterns. For our Spirit, it can be following our intuition, being true to ourselves and opening ourselves to our true potential. All these parts of ourselves need to be in balance and I feel its something that we all strive for, especially in our fast paced, over stimulated, frantic world we live in right now. We want to be happy and fulfilled. We want to be strong. We want to be fit. We want to BE……

Stop idolising your past self. 🥴🤦🏽‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Comparing yourself to your past self is just as unhealthy for you as it is for everyone around you. ❤️

Our bodies are supposed to change over time. We are not going to look the same as we did when we were 18. 🤦🏽‍♀️

Release the need to compare ourselves now, to photos we took 10, 20, 30 years ago and/or pre-kids.🥴

Let go of that comparison, & choose to enjoy your life now and accept that your body will fluctuate over time all while you can still care for your health and fitness.

My body has been through a lot over the years. I haven’t always been kind to it, but also life hasn’t always gone our way either. 🥺

In my younger years I treated my body so poorly and all to look a certain way. My weight would go up and down, dieted all the time, exercised from dawn to dusk, drank a lot (not water) 🥴but look really just neglected it more often than not. To add to that I had 4 miscarriages and 3 operations for endometriosis.😬

As I get older I have realised that my body has changed and will change more as time goes by so I need to adapt my mindset and training and I’m ok with that. 🙏🏽

I realise that I’m not always going to train and look how I did in my younger years and I do my best to eat and drink well to nourish my body, I get regular massage and ensure I’m taking the right supplements to help me along the way!

So as we move through the years we encourage you to adapt, to move & nourish your bodies, stop comparing yourself to your younger self and others around you.

And believe me changing your mindset and learning to adapt will have a profound effect on our journey to living a longer happier and fitter life but also one that brings you some peace. ❤️

Who Should come along to the Squat Workshop?

This workshop is for anyone who wants to look at their squat and identify how you can improve it. Whether its to squat deeper or add weight to your squats this one hour workshop will give you tips on how to improve your squat and ultimately get more value out of your workshop.

You will leave with tools of mobility and ways to improve your strength deficits.

Workshop numbers are capped at 5 so you will spend time with Carolynne individually as well as meet like minded people.

Come along to a one hour workshop designed to help you improve your squat... whether you want to increase the depth or how much weight you are squatting, we will identify your limitations to help you improve your squat.🏋🏋

This workshop is for anyone who thinks that they may be able to get more out of their Squat.

As a parent, finding time for ourselves has often felt impossible.🤦🏽‍♀️

Between juggling responsibilities at home, work and taking care of our little humans, personal well-being most often takes a backseat.

With most schools heading back this week it has been so lovely to hear and see parents getting in, talking of making a change and for some finally after years feeling ready to get into the world of fitness.🙌

The Club is a place where so many find peace & solace. And those of you who have been a member in the Club will agree even amongst the chaos it is a place where you can come in and just have a break from the outside world. 🥰

What has been sad to hear is that so many have often felt like joining a gym is an indulgence, but they have realised over time that this fitness thing is actually a necessity. 💯

Many have talked of a lifestyle shift and a commitment to self-care for themselves but also one that sets a positive example for their children which really resonates with us.

If our children see that we value ourselves enough to carve out time to do something good for ourselves that is such a powerful message. Monkey see monkey do (we hope)

Over the years of working in the fitness industry my outlook on fitness has changed. In my early teens and 20’s it was all about how I looked and that number on those friggen scales, 🥴 but as the years have gone by now it is all about looking after my physical & mental wellbeing and one that sees me hanging around longer to help others see how the gym is not a scary place and wonderful it really can be if you find the right one.

The world of fitness can have such a positive impact in our lives in more ways that we could ever imagine.

At Bodyfix self-care is not selfish. It is an absolute essential to help us all to be better parents, partners, better friends. But most of all it helps us to just take that time out for ourselves which is so needed in order for us to recharge.
