Matariki is all about coming together — to reflect, to celebrate, and to look to the future with intention.

This year’s theme, Matariki mā Puanga, is a reminder that our different cultures, identities and experiences are what make us strong.

Let’s celebrate what makes each of us unique, and the things that connect us all. 🌈🌌

🎨 How cool is our new mural?! 🎨

Before we moved into our new Rangatahi Connection Centre, we held an art competition for local young artists to design a mural that represents the Manu Ka Rere kaupapa.

The winning piece is now proudly displayed on our reception wall, making a bold and vibrant first impression for our rangatahi. We love the artist’s unique interpretation of our kaupapa and think it fits the space perfectly.

Massive shoutout to the talented young artist who brought this vision to life. Ōtautahi has some seriously creative rangatahi, and we’re so proud to showcase their mahi. 👏

❤️ It’s World Mental Health Day! ❤️

This year’s theme is "Mental Health at Work," so we wanted to share how our team stays on top of their mental wellbeing at mahi. Our awesome kaimahi, who support young people across Ōtautahi, recommend simple things like listening to each other, sharing kai, taking hikoi breaks, listening to music, creating low sensory spaces, using noise-cancelling headphones, talking things through, supporting each other, and finding moments to laugh together.

Today’s a great reminder to check in with your colleagues and make mental health a priority – not just today, but every day.
