Blue Brothers

Blue Brothers Blue Brothers Movement is a charitable, not-for-profit organisation set up with the intention of offering wellbeing and camaraderie to men living with cancer.

Offering support groups in Christchurch, Rangiora & Kaikoura, our goal is to create an environment that promotes connection, exercise and a trusted space for people to come together and share their experience - or simply have a cuppa, get some exercise in, and have a chat. 🎉 CONGRATULATIONS COLLEEN! 🎉

We're thrilled to celebrate Trainer Colleen on her incredible achievement — she has officially completed the Oncovie™ Cancer Exercise Trainer Level 1 Certification! 👏💪

This internationally recognised qualification equips Colleen with specialised knowledge and skills to safely and effectively support individuals living with or recovering from cancer through tailored exercise programs.

Colleen completed the course specifically to better support the Blue Brothers movement- An initiative empowering men living with cancer and the weekly class she leads for them here at Fit 4 Life. Her commitment to their physical and emotional wellbeing is a shining example of what community care looks like. 💙

At Fit 4 Life, we’re proud to be expanding our ability to care for our members and with Colleen now trained in cancer-specific exercise prescription, we’re even better equipped to support those who are navigating one of life’s toughest challenges.

Please join us in congratulating Colleen on this important milestone. Our team, our members, and our community are lucky to have her! 🙌

Save the date!

Blue Brothers are very excited to confirm the 31st of October 2025 as the date for the 3rd Annual David Cattermole Memorial Bowls Tournament Fundraiser.

We would love to see you enter a team and to again experience the good vibes and fun which has transpired at our previous Social Bowls’ events.

On this day we remember our Trust founder David Cattermole and the extraordinary contribution he made when establishing the Blue Brothers Movement. Our trust is committed to continuing his good work and will never stop believing we can make a difference to the lives of men living with cancer.

An entry form will be sent out in the upcoming months, along with opportunities to support the Trust in other ways, including sponsorship and prize donations.

Keep an eye out for more details! 💙🩵

FITNESS AND COMRADERIE FOR MEN LIVING WITH CANCER

Our mission is to get Men Living With Cancer to exercise more and to be able to share their journey with others whom are walking in the same shoes. We hope to inspire ourselves and each other.

Our ultimate goal is to get more males talking about male health and encouraging all males to be pro-active with medical testing.
