And we’re LIVE with Episode 78 of Social Harmony - Time to Talk, now available for download. I'm joined by Loren Audrie- a poet, speaker, writer and spiritual teacher who looks to help those affected by severe mental illness, whether it be their own or that of a loved one.

As a young child, Loren became acutely aware of the fear she had of when her mother became 'unwell' - this could present in a number of ways and would start at any moment without rhyme or reason, causing confusion and uncertainty for her.

While trying to navigate the reasons and impacts of what was going on around her, the family were also struggling with the effects of caring for a loved one with bipolar disorder but seemingly unable to guide Loren mentally and emotionally through what were incredibly distressing times - leading to instances of suicidal ideation, self-harm, abusive relationships and a long journey through therapy and beyond.

Having spent years working on her own wellbeing while raising her daughter, studying and carving a path forward for herself, Loren now uses creativity, faith and a voice of experience to engage with others who are struggling in order to provide calm, support and the hope that things can look brighter than they may appear.

And we’re LIVE - you won’t want to miss this one! At the moment it seems as though everything is political - from overseas wars to the price of daily living, from protests in the streets to our online discourse, it all seems to be as a result of the actions of those who govern and plays out in our reactions. But are we really so divided and as polarised as our media outlets would have us believe?

The release of Episode 77 of Social Harmony - Time to Talk seems incredibly timely given the above. I'm joined by Joe Steagall, host and creator of The Middleground Mic podcast and political commentator aiming to cut to the truth of the headlines we see played out daily on our screens - usually once they've been given the 'once over' to suit set agendas.

Joe interviews many in local and regional governance roles to discuss the issues faced daily by the electorate, looking to hear solutions rather than soundbites while also willing to hold his guest to account rather than nodding along to keep the peace.

Joe looks to put forth a centrist perspective that places greater emphasis on critical thought, analysis and doing what is best for the population as a whole rather than the current trend of aiming for shock value and empty platitudes in order to either antagonise or placate. While much of the political content that we consume tends to follow an 'us and them' narrative, Joe looks to provide informed commentary and forthright honesty with a view to giving a 'facts over feelings' approach without the need for targeted attack.

And we’re LIVE with Episode 76 of Social Harmony - Time to Talk where I'm joined by Shalina Lodhia - counsellor, criminologist, JP, musician and so much more.

Shalina works with women in her community in a bid to help them heal from, extract themselves from or even just bring themselves to discuss the trauma of domestic harm, sexual abuse, abortion and all manner of events that social circumstances have caused them to face alone.

Shalina also talks of her own intergenerational trauma, beginning with abandonment by her father and continuing onto maladaptive coping strategies, self-loathing and abusive relationships until finally working up the courage to begin counselling - but this was just the start of a long journey.

Relatable and empathic, Shalina looks to her own life stories as a method of connecting with her clients in order to walk alongside them as they find their own answers (along with several questions...) in their journey towards acceptance, self-love and a means of moving forward in life with new skills and ways of showing up in the world.
