A perfectly relaxing way to finish the day, our Yin Yoga class combines mobility and recovery with nervous system regulation. Seated and reclines poses are held for a longer period to give access to fascia, the interconnective tissue that encases our muscles, ligaments, and bones.

✨ Meet Zo! ✨ From Dance to Shiatsu to Motherhood to Yoga; tuning in and listening, expressing and expanding, unlearning and rediscovering – all of it has been a wonderful platform to have the most curious experiences land in Zo's life.

She loves the transformational power of movement, touch, or even simply breathing or smiling. These have been Zo's anchors in some of the wildest storms.

Since completing her first yoga teacher training in 2012, the yoga space has continued to transform her deeply – whether through healing injuries, meeting previously unmet parts of herself, or simply enjoying a good sweat.

Zo endeavours to hold a space that invites her students to be gentle, open, and accepting of Self.

In addition to the regular Saturday Mysore Style & Ashtanga classes, there will be a special Partner Yoga class free for members and their +1!

🤝 Better Together: Partner Yoga – 3:30-4:30pm with Timea
This playful, supportive session invites you to explore movement with a partner to deepen stretches, improve balance, and refine alignment. By safely using shared body weight, we can access stretches that are difficult to reach alone, all while building trust and body awareness. More than just a yoga class, this session focuses on connection, communication, and mindful movement – skills that translate beautifully into both climbing and everyday life.
Beginner friendly, partners can be paired on the day.

✨ An intentional pause to unwind ✨

Our regular Full Moon Restorative class has evolved into Deep Rest, now held on the last Sunday of the month.

Expect the same long and luscious restorative practice, still including a complimentary cup of house-made chai afterwards, just with a different monthly rhythm. Practices include gentle movement, breathwork, restorative postures, guided relaxation (Yoga Indra), and meditation.

📍Arm Balance & Playful Movement Workshop
🕑 2:00pm - 4:00pm
🗓️ Saturday 31st January

Whether you're revisiting old shapes or exploring new ones, we'll create a supportive space to wobble, giggle, and surprise ourselves!

The workshop will begin with a slow, grounding warmup, including breathwork to help you settle and reconnect. From there, the session will progressively build through shoulder warming exercises, standing balance work, and mobilising movement to prepare the body for lift off. A playful flow will lead into arm balances and inversions, with optional assisted seated postures offered along the way. The workshop will conclude with a relaxed, restorative savasana.

✨ New class ✨ The Uprising Yoga studio is back in full flow for 2026! For the next three Fridays, we'll be running a special Foundations Flow class to set our yogis up well for the year ahead.

Perfect for those new to yoga, returning after a break, or looking to strengthen their foundations, these classes are beginner-friendly and supportive. Foundations Flow is set at a slower pace than our regular Flow classes, with plenty of guidance to help you build confidence in key yoga postures, transitions, and breath.

It's that time of year again! 🎄🕯️ If you're around Ōtautahi during the Christmas & New Year break, we'll be operating on this holiday timetable from next Mon 22nd December until Sunday 11th January to give our teachers some time out over the silly season.

As always, you are more than welcome to use the studio for self-practice outside class times - please note that Uprising will be closed on 25-26 December & 1-2 January, and open on holiday hours from 24th December to 5th January. Check our website for full opening hours.

✨New class✨ Yoga Nidra is now a regular fixture in our timetable, on the first Friday of every month from 7:00pm - 8:00pm. It's the perfect way to cap off a work week 😌

Also known as yogic sleep, Yoga Nidra is a powerful guided relaxation practice for deep rest, relaxation, and tension release. Join us in the studio to lie down, listen, and let your body unwind.

Led by Atmavidya, Krista, and Amaya on a rotating basis, Yoga Nidra can be booked by logging into your GymMaster account or talking to the lovely team at the front desk.

We’re so happy Ashtanga Day was enjoyed and appreciated by those who attended last Saturday. The closing circle was particularly heartfelt, causing a few eyes to become teary for sure. These words from a yogi who was with us the whole day; expanding her personal practice (and feeling the benefits of investing that energy and focus) 🙏
