Akaroa Health Hub : Te Hauora o Rakaihautu - Akaroa Hospital was destroyed in the 2011 earthquakes. The community is raising funds for a new facility to meet many of the medical needs of residents and enable them to remain in their community into old age.
Christchurch City Mission - works with those living on the edges of society. The poor, homeless, addicted and lonely. We offer food parcels, social work support, budget advice, counselling for addiction and alcohol, drugs, men and women's night shelters and support on our day programmes.
Korowai Youth Well-Being Trust - runs the 298 Youth One Stop Shop. We provide free health, counselling and social services to 12-25 year olds, who are struggling in our community. Together with other organisations in a Youth Hub.
180 Degrees Trust - Has two divisions, 180 Degress School and 180 Mentoring, providing adventure programmes based in Canterbury's high country. We turn around the lives of teenagers who struggle with mainstream education or who have drug, alcohol or violence problems.
Refugee Fund - The establishment of a fund to support refugees that are resettled in Canterbury from outside New Zealand.
