📢 Maternity Services at Christchurch Women’s Hospital is calling for donations of knitted hats, singlets, cardigans and blankets for full-term babies 🧶
👶 We need wool singlets, hats and cardigans that will fit babies weighing between 2.5kg and 4.5 kg (5lb-10lb).
❗ We are unable to accept any knitting in acrylic because this material does not support the babies to maintain their body temperature.
🙏 We are so grateful to the community for providing this valuable resource to the whānau of Canterbury, many of whom are caught unaware of how many layers their baby may need to keep warm or be caught out with a baby that has difficulty maintaining their temperature.
👉 Donations can be sent or dropped off to:
Christchurch Women’s Maternity Ward, Level 5, Christchurch Women’s Hospital. Please include your name and contact details if you wish.

Please help us bring our beloved dog home ❤️
Small, female black Labrador.
She has distinctive ‘Bolo spots’ above her two front pads.
Was wearing a navy collar.

What is Osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a manual medicine and a holistic medicine. This means that we use our hands to assess and treat a patient, plus we look at the body as a whole.

We offer a range of approaches to treatment including gentle techniques, massage-like techniques, articulation and mobilisation of joints. The methods we use will depend on your body type, the problems you present with, and your personal preferences.

The body is one functional unit, meaning all areas are interconnected this is why osteopaths may provide relief by treating an area seemingly unrelated to your symptoms.

Each individual has their own pattern of strain which needs to be addressed to restore proper function to their body and a pain free state. Our patients are often surprised when they finally find relief from chronic pain once they try osteopathy. Osteopaths work within their scope of practice and refer to other healthcare professionals as required.
