There’s roadwork happening on Fitzerald avenue. Please allow yourself some extra travel time so you can get to your appointment on time 🙏

Here’s the official update from the City Council for more details:

⛔ Fitzgerald Ave / St Asaph St traffic signal upgrades 🚦

We’re upgrading the traffic signals at this busy intersection, starting this Sunday (7 September).

We’re replacing old signals, installing new ducting and making changes to the kerb and channel to support this new infrastructure.

📅 You'll see us working 24/7 until the end of September 2025. This approach will help us to reduce the overall disruption at this intersection.
🚧 We'll have temporary traffic management in place while we complete this work
👷🏻‍♀️ Fitzgerald Avenue will be reduced to one lane in each direction at all times
🚥 Right hand turns into St Asaph Street will be removed for the duration of the works
🚫 St Asaph Street (east of Fitzgerald Ave, heading away from the city centre) will be closed 24/7 for the duration of the works.
🚗 St Asaph Street (west of Fitzgerald Ave, heading towards the city centre) will be closed nightly between 6pm and 6am
