Some everyday items can be deadly for your fur babies. Keep these common household toxins far out of pawsβ reach:
π©Ί Human meds (e.g. ibuprofen)
- Can cause vomiting, ulcers, kidney failure, or seizures.
πΈ Lilies (especially in cats)
- Even the pollen can cause kidney failure β early signs: drooling, vomiting, lethargy.
π« Chocolate
- Tremors, fast heart rate, seizures.
π Grapes & raisins
- Vomiting, inappetence, drinking lots
π§ Onions, garlic & chives
- Cause damage to red blood cells β weakness, pale gums, collapse.
π¬ Xylitol (in sugar-free gum, candy, toothpaste)
- Vomiting, weakness, seizures.
β οΈ Rat bait (rodenticides)
- Lethargy, pale gums
π Pesticides/insecticides
- Muscle tremors, seizures, vomiting, or skin irritation.
π§΄ Essential oils (tea tree, eucalyptus, citrus, etc.)
- Drooling, vomiting, wobbliness.
βοΈ Antifreeze (ethylene glycol)
- Causes vomiting, incoordination.
