From city buses and driverless cars in the streets of San Francisco, the commute is just the beginning.

I’m back at Baptiste Power Yoga San Francisco today to do the work. It’s not about finding a quiet escape; it’s about working at my edge and staying present in the heat.

This journey reminds me that yoga is a journey, not a destination. Whether I’m navigating the city hills or a challenging sequence on the mat, it’s all part of the practice.

Open to the Light, Ready for the Wind 🧡⛵

I’ve been watching the California poppies here in San Francisco. They have this beautiful, simple wisdom: they only open when the sun is shining.

They don’t hide their colour or their vibrance when the light is right; they stretch wide and let themselves be seen.

It’s a perfect metaphor for how we should show up for ourselves. Don’t hide.

Too often, we keep our “sails” furled, waiting for the perfect conditions or feeling like we should stay small. But just like these poppies, we are meant to be our biggest, boldest expression.

When you let the sun shine on you, when you truly inhabit your own space, you create the opportunity to catch the wind.

In our practice, we create the space to grow and the solid foundation to stand tall.

Whether you are finding your balance on a yoga mat or navigating your path in life:

• Open up: Don’t be afraid of your own vibrance.

• Set your sails: Catch the wind that is meant for your journey.

• Trust your path: You will navigate the breeze.

Fire & Grace🔥⛪️

My Sunday morning reflection looks a little different today.
Looking back at Friday (slide 1), that post-power yoga glow was earned! After 13 hours of travel, a sweaty, high-intensity Baptiste session was the “fire” I needed to burn through the jet lag.

There is nothing like heat and community to remind you that you’re grounded.

Then, I experienced a completely different kind of movement at Grace Cathedral. 🕊️✨

I was lucky enough to place my yoga mat on the coveted labyrinth right in the heart of the Cathedral. While the setting is serene, it was a challenging enough practice. It required deep Stability and focus to find my centre in a space that feels so expansive.

I’ve been watching the world here for inspiration (slides 8 & 9) I saw a seagull perfectly balanced against the bay breeze and a yacht leaning hard into the wind, both masterclasses in Balance.

Just like that yacht, sometimes we have to lean into the pressure to find our momentum, using our Core as the anchor.

Moving under those soaring arches was a deeply “submerged” experience. It’s a powerful reminder that wellness is both the sweat of the power yoga and the awe of the sacred space.

I loved the energy at Baptiste Yoga San Francisco so much that I’m heading back there today (and every day!). I can’t wait to get back into that heat this morning.

13 Hours, 0 Sleep, 1 Massive Reset ✈️🧘‍♀️I love yoga!

From the quiet morning light of the South Island to the fog shrouded beauty of the Golden Gate Bridge, what a whirlwind 24 hours.

I’ll be honest: after 13 hours in the air with essentially zero sleep, I was running on empty. I know how much a long-haul flight can stiffen my body and cloud my mind.

I knew I needed to move, so I headed straight to a Baptiste Power Yoga session. My “home away from home”, I was warmly welcomed by the studio community, some I had previously met in Iceland at yoga training programmes ☺️.

The heat and the power were exactly the “jet-lag cure” I needed. I walked in feeling a little jaded and walked out feeling grounded, alive, and ready to explore.

It’s amazing what happens on your mat. I even had a physical breakthrough in a pose taking it somewhere I hadn’t been before!

San Francisco, I’ve arrived. 🌁☀️

Between the sea lions (my new Sea Kin friends!), the fog, and the incredible energy of this city, I’m finding my flow in a whole new time zone.

Wise Ways Wednesday: Fuelling your Flow

Before starting up for the day, do your pre-flight checks. Before the day gets away on you, check in with yourself. ✈️⛽�
We have just marked the end of Women of Aviation Worldwide Week 2026. I love the tagline from their website: “Let’s weave some pink in aviation”. As it happens, I was already wearing the perfect jumper for the job!�
While the official celebrations have wrapped up, for me, these two worlds, the hangar and the mat, constantly overlap.

By day, I’m in the Radar Centre as an Air Traffic Controller, but my foundation in aviation started here, in the early 2000’s with the hands-on essentials.

In honour of the week that was, I’m sharing a few “pre-flight” lessons that I carry into my wellness practice every single day.

1. How much is in the tank?

In aviation, we never take off without knowing exactly how much fuel we have. In our daily lives, we often try to “fly” on empty.

Today, take a second to pause: Do I actually have the energy for what I’m about to do, or am I running on fumes?�
2. Quality matters.

You wouldn’t put the contaminated fuel in an aircraft and expect it to keep you airborne.

The same goes for your mind. Are you fuelling your day with nourishment, rest and connection, or high-octane stress?�
3. Trust the signals.

At the radar centre, I trust and make decisions based on the data in front of me.

In your wellness practice, trust what your body is telling you. If it says you’re tired, don’t ignore your gauge.

This isn’t a signal not to move; it is an invitation to modify the intensity of your movements to meet you as you are in that moment. As the well known saying goes - Motion is the lotion of life!�
The official week may be over, but the work of guiding the blue above and navigating the deep blue within continues. 🌊✨�

Post-retreat glow meets a very exciting planning session! 🌊✨

I spent this afternoon with Hazel from Style Anthology, and let’s just say... something beautiful is brewing.

I’ve always loved that Style Anthology is a place where “clothing tells a story.” It’s more than just a boutique; it’s a space built on connection, community, and the beauty of things that carry meaning. 🐚📖

We’ve been busy dreaming up a special collaboration that weaves the Wave Wellness ethos into their stunning, curated space. We’re combining the art of storytelling with the practice of finding your own “layers of calm.” 🧘‍♀️✨

We aren’t sharing the full details just yet, but mark your calendars for this Friday when we’ll be revealing everything. If you’ve been looking for a way to deepen your practice in a space that feels like a sanctuary, you won’t want to miss this.

A heart completely full. 🤍🌊

Filming this little moment as I left the Salt & Soul: March Meridian retreat, the air was still humming with the energy of the weekend.

My deepest gratitude to the incredible, intimate group of women who joined me. Your openness to new experiences and willingness to Submerge into stillness is what made these days truly magical. We breathed, we moved, we connected, and we found our own unique rhythm.

It’s always a privilege to guide others but this weekend felt particularly special.

I’m stepping back into the “real world” with a full heart, a clear mind, and a BIG piece of that retreat magic staying with me.

To everyone who followed along and sent such warm messages over the weekend - thank you. Your connection means a lot to me.

A deep ocean blue, with a clarity that feels entirely fitting for the Salt & Soul Retreat: March Meridian I’m hosting this weekend. 🦋✨

Watching this magical brew transform is the perfect way to ground myself before the real work begins—creating space for this intimate group to Submerge and find their own clarity.

There’s something so powerful about starting the morning with a ritual that mirrors the ocean itself. I’m stepping into these next few days with a full heart, ready to guide this group through their own transformations.

I’ve scheduled this post ahead of time so I could share a piece of my morning ritual with you, even while I’m offline. I hope your Sunday morning is filled with a ritual that makes you pause, too.
