October is Breast Cancer Awareness month 🎀

Early detection can save lives so know what’s normal and examine your breasts every month - if you notice any skin changes, dimpling, lumps or ni**le changes reach out to a doctor.

If you think you might be at higher risk of breast cancer talk to your doctor about risk factors and an individualised screening plan.

In Aotearoa screening starts at 45 and has recently been extended to age 74 so encourage friends and book yours through BreastScreen Aotearoa either online or by phoning 0800 270 200

Midlife is a time of change - physically, emotionally and socially.

The hormonal shifts of perimenopause and menopause can affect energy, mood, sleep and metabolism but it’s also a chance to reset.

🍃 Move often - strength training and daily activity can protect bone and heart health
🍅 Eat well - focus on protein, fibre, calcium
😴 Prioritise sleep - with a cool, calm routine
🧘🏽‍♀️Manage stress - mindfulness, yoga or time outdoors can help balance mood
💬 Stay connected - good relationships protect wellbeing.

At Juno Women’s Health we believe lifestyle and evidence-based care go hand in hand - helping women feel their best through midlife and beyond.
