We were honoured to host Vintage Car Club member John Turley’s celebration of life at our Waimana venue this week. It was a beautiful day, with plenty of parking and a peaceful setting for loved ones to gather. His cherished car took pride of place throughout his farewell, shining through our large windows — a fitting tribute to a life well lived.

Just a friendly reminder that Lamb & Hayward will no longer be holding the traditional February Memorial Service at Ōtukaikino “The Living Memorial.” 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗱, 𝘄𝗲’𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴.

This refreshed format will include a tree dedication, with optional planting activities and guided tours of the beautiful 13‑hectare native wetland—created in partnership with the Department of Conservation in 1992. The Living Memorial remains a peaceful place of remembrance, with the Angel Rock continuing as the resting place for Angels from our Christmas to Remember services.

🌿 Ōtukaikino Memorial Service Changes 🌿

𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙮𝙚𝙖𝙧 𝙢𝙖𝙧𝙠𝙨 𝙖 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚, 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙗𝙮 𝙬𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙣𝙤 𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙧 𝙝𝙤𝙡𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙪𝙨𝙪𝙖𝙡 𝙈𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙎𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝙞𝙣 𝙁𝙚𝙗𝙧𝙪𝙖𝙧𝙮 𝙖𝙩 𝙊𝙩𝙪𝙠𝙖𝙞𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙤 “𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙇𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙈𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙖𝙡”. 𝙄𝙣𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙖𝙙, 𝙬𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙣𝙤𝙬 𝙝𝙤𝙨𝙩 𝙖 𝙈𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙒𝙚𝙚𝙠𝙚𝙣𝙙 𝙞𝙣 𝙨𝙥𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜.

Last week, our Westpark venue hosted a heartfelt farewell for entrepreneur Oliver “Oli” Newbegin. Classic cars lined the driveway in a fitting tribute to his legacy as a co founder of the Porsche Club of NZ.

Schumann wrote his Symphony No. 1 during one of the happiest periods of his life, newly married, wildly in love, and full of creative confidence.

“The symphony has given me so many hours of bliss,” he wrote in his diary, and that sense of joy runs through the music, from the opening fanfare to the exuberant finale.
