I’m currently 10 days into the postpartum period for the third time, and every time I move through this season I’m reminded just how big of an adjustment it is.
Your body is recovering.
Your hormones are shifting.
Your sleep is disrupted.
And your brain is learning an entirely new rhythm of life again.

Even though this isn’t my first time navigating postpartum, I still find myself leaning on the same tools and reminders that I share with clients. Because the truth is, most of the advice new mums receive focuses on caring for the baby, while very little attention is given to caring for the mother’s mind.

As a hypnotherapist and psychology graduate, these are four things I often remind women in the postpartum period. Not because motherhood needs to be done perfectly or in one way, but because small shifts in how we regulate our nervous system, speak to ourselves and structure our day can make a huge difference to how supported and grounded we feel. And as a mum myself, I know how powerful those reminders can be.

If you’re in the postpartum season right now, be gentle with yourself. Your nervous system is learning too 🤍

Things have been a bit quiet on here since last week as we welcomed our gorgeous girl.

Emilia June Cromie was born on 05.03.2026 🤍

We will continue to soak up our newborn bubble and will share more soon!

Day 29 of self care and well being- a story of being humbled by the ultimate public meltdown and how I handled it 😅

Today my toddler completely lost it… in public… and for a moment I felt that familiar heat rise in my chest. The urge to fix it. Stop it. Make it look “better.” But instead, I removed myself for a minute. Breathed. Regulated. Reminded myself how little he actually is.

He’s wasn’t giving me a hard time, he was having a hard time. It was a tough hour. Not a tough life. Not a bad day. Just a hard moment.

Motherhood has taught me that surrender isn’t giving up, it’s accepting what’s in front of you without fighting it. It’s choosing connection over control. It’s letting the storm pass instead of trying to silence it.

We moved through it. We reset (even though this ended up taking nearly 2 hours). We carried on. And that felt like a quiet little win 🤍

Day 28 of selfcare and wellbeing- How I create a self hypnosis recording and how I practice what I preach 🤍

When I create a self-hypnosis track, especially for something as significant as birth, it’s structured very intentionally.

Although this may look like a lot of work and writing, it is based off different templates I have personally established, to use as a guide, and then customised further and structured to meet personal needs.

There’s a clear induction to regulate the nervous system and induce a state of hypnosis. There’s body-based language to reinforce trust and physiological stability. There’s surgical reframing to reduce subconscious threat responses. There’s baby co-regulation.There’s future pacing (so the brain has already practised the day). There’s identity work, because how you see yourself going into birth matters. And there’s anchoring so calm becomes accessible on cue.

None of this is random. These are techniques I’ve trained in and use with clients every week, customised to the individual nervous system in front of me.

For me, this track isn’t about controlling birth. It’s about preparing my mind and body to meet it calmly, safely and powerfully.

I have been listening to it every night the past few days and will continue to leading up to her arrival 🤍

Day 26 of sharing self care and wellbeing at 38 weeks pregnant with my third- today it’s a simple one… appreciating bedtime and making the most of my hubby being away to takeover the bed with my pillow collection 😂

If I’m being honest, today felt full on and non stop. One of those days where the kids were wired, I was tired, and it was all on me to just get through 😅 so yes today’s reel is late but it is an accurate glimpse of how simple my “self care” is today. Simply setting myself up for a good nights sleep and appreciating my love for pillows. 😴

Day 24 of sharing what self care and wellbeing looks like for me in this season- yet again, it’s more food prep with these easy cheesy marmite scrolls!

If I’ve learnt anything in this season, it’s that wellbeing is often just being practical.
It’s thinking ahead.
It’s making snacks before everyone is starving.
It’s reducing the 4pm meltdown energy (for them… and for me 😅

Sometimes self-care looks like preparation. Sometimes it looks like cheese.

What’s your go-to easy snack that’s a hit with the kids (and you)? 👇🏼

Day 23 of self care & wellbeing- what an average weekly supermarket shop looks like for us 🍎

We go through a lot of fresh fruit, veggies and meat on average. Growing babies, active kids, a hungry husband and a 38-week pregnant mum will do that 😅

I don’t usually skimp on quality or nutrition. So yes this weekly spend may seem high. But I see food as an investment and a top priority for us. No not all the choices are perfect but this is what balance looks like for us.

Our budget is flexible and most weeks we sit somewhere between $400–$500. This week felt “light” at $330 because we didn’t need to restock staples like butter, cheese, olive oil etc (which always sneakily bump the total up).

I’m sharing this as selfcare and wellbeing because a big part of that for me is a well-stocked fridge and pantry, fresh produce on the bench, and knowing I’ve set our week up reasonably well.

Curious to know… what’s your average weekly spend at the supermarket right now? 👇🏼

Day 22 of self care and wellbeing at 37 weeks pregnant- soaking up one on one time with this cutie ❤️

Today had a couple of client sessions, more errands, ticking things off before baby arrives…
But tucked in between the “busy” was something that mattered most.

A fluffy date.
A play.
One-on-one time with my two-year-old.

With another little one about to join our family, I’m so aware that this season of just us is shifting. And while I can’t freeze time (as much as I sometimes wish I could), I can be intentional with it. Self-care for me right now isn’t escaping motherhood. It’s being present in it. It’s choosing connection over rushing. Play over productivity, even if just for a little while.

These small pockets of undivided attention feel big. For him. And for me 🤍

Day 21 of self care and wellbeing- reflecting on this little series I’ve been sharing each day and why I’m doing it 🤍

I thought it would be fun to share more of me… what my life looks like, what I get up to, some snippets of my day, how I practice what I preach (most the time), and why I feel like I do live a balanced life with a balanced perspective. I’ve realised that in order to live well and look after ourselves internally, it’s found in the small habits, the small shifts and in the simple things.

For me in this season of life (pregnant, mothering, running a business, nesting, planning…) it’s not extravagant.
It looks like:
• Protecting my nervous system
• Planning my week so my mind feels clear
• Eating properly
• Delegating when my body needs it
• Getting outside in the sun
• Being present with the kids
• Keeping the house in order (most of the time)
• Loving and appreciating my work
• Finding joy in the small daily habits

It’s less about “treat yourself” and more about regulation, intention and alignment. Self-care doesn’t have to be aesthetic or extreme to be powerful. It just has to be honest for the season you’re in 🤍
