Anne Po Yoga

Anne Po Yoga Yoga classes, Christchurch, New Zealand Hi to everyone I had the chance to meet during my yoga classes all around Christchurch and welcome to the new ones!

Let me introduce myself. My Name is Anne Pauline, I am French and a yoga teacher (vinyasa and ashtanga yoga) since three years. I arrived in Christchurch in 2015 after spending a year in Australia where I was lucky to teach Vinyasa and Ashtanga yoga as well in different studios. You can see below my bio and a descriptive of my classes:

I began practicing yoga 9 years ago with the hatha yoga but I

quickly discovered the Vinyasa Flow and the Ashtanga, the two styles I practice today. At that time, I needed to find balance and inner calm. Yoga helped me to alleviate the stresses of my marketing profession in Paris. The amazing feeling of mindfulness and ‘being present on my mat in the moment’, is what draws me back the class constantly. And what began as an occasional practice became my relaxation pursuit which provided me with much-needed space to focus inwards and forget about the outside stressful world. Yoga create the perfect balance for both my mind and body by making me feel healthier and stronger. More than a de-stress, yoga helped me to learn about myself, understand the strengths, the edges and the limits of my body. In a word, to be more confident. I chose to become teacher to help students to stay connected to their true selves, their bodies, minds and spirits. I think it’s a good opportunity for students who are looking to alleviate stress or anxiety facilitate healing and generally improve their day to day feeling of wellbeing. I completed my 200 hours teacher training course by two times: in Vinyasa Flow with Gérard Arnaud in 2013 and in Ashtanga Vinyasa in 2014 with Samyak Yoga. Class description:
My classes (1 hour or 1:30) focus on mindful body movement and the breath. In Vinyasa flow, they include sun salutations, standing poses, balancing postures, seated, backbends, core isolation, strengthening, restorative poses and pranayama: a very complete cocktail to discover this dynamic style of yoga while remaining fully connected to his body, his abilities, his strengths and his limits. Special emphasis is placed on moving into and out of postures safely, correct alignment, using the breath in a dynamic way. I love to combine creative sequences and a spirit of playfulness. Classes can also incorporate music. You can expect my classes to be powerful and challenging yet gentle and compassionate with your body. My classes are appropriate for beginners as well as those with an ongoing practice. I also teach private lessons. If you are interested, send me a private message for more personalized information. Namaste,

Anne Pauline

Your Sunday VinYin Ritual is almost here!

The countdown is on. This Sunday, June 7th, we begin a weekly sanctuary dedicated entirely to slowing down, protecting your energy, and creating a supportive boundary before the busy week ahead.

Over this 7-week progressive series, we will split our 90 minutes down the middle: 45 minutes of heat-building Vinyasa to sweat out the week’s tension, followed by 45 minutes of deep, floor-based Yin to completely soothe your nervous system and prepare you for the week.

Choose your own path:
You can dive into the full seasonal commitment to establish a deep, consistent habit, or simply drop in for a single, powerful Sunday reset whenever you need it most.

Single Sunday Reset: $38 casual drop-in

The most productive thing you can do today might be… nothing.

We live in a world that rewards « doing, » but your nervous system craves « being. » If you’ve been feeling overstimulated, anxious, or just plain exhausted, this 28-minute Restorative Pause was filmed specifically for you.

This isn’t a workout. It’s a work-in. Using props to fully support the body, we hold gentle shapes that allow your muscles to melt and your heart rate to settle. It’s about creating a sanctuary of stillness in the middle of your busy week.

What’s inside:
- Supported postures for deep relaxation
- Calming breathwork to soothe the mind
- 28 minutes of restorative, quiet bliss
Whether you’re navigating the « school holiday juggle » or just need to decompress after a long day, this session is your invitation to land softly.

The Restorative Pause is now live on Your Online Yoga Studio.

June 7th is creeping closer, and the mats at the Mt Pleasant studio space are already starting to fill.

If you caught my post last week, you know Your Sunday VinYin Ritual splits our 90 minutes perfectly down the middle:
- 45 minutes of sweaty, heat-building Vinyasa to release the week
- followed by 45 minutes of deep, floor-based Yin to reset your nervous system.

But why this specific combination?
As we slide into the colder Christchurch months, our bodies naturally want to hibernate, but our minds keep racing with Sunday night decision fatigue. We don’t just sit down on the mat and try to force a busy mind to be quiet.

We work with your body’s natural intelligence:
🔥 The Vinyasa half builds gentle heat to physically shift stagnant energy, sweat out the week’s tension, and burn off residual mental anxiety.
🌙 The Yin half uses deep, floor-based shapes and cozy props to soothe the nervous system, trigger absolute mental clarity, and physically prepare you to face the week ahead with ease.
It is effort followed by absolute ease, the ultimate buffer between the weekend chaos and the Monday rush.

It’s your time to Choose Your Path:
- Full 7-Week Sanctuary Pass: $228 (Includes one full session on me)
- Single Sunday Reset: $38 casual drop-in.

To preserve a truly intimate, quiet, and deeply supportive environment, the in-person container at Mt Pleasant is strictly capped at 12 mats. (Zoom and 7-day video replays are also completely open if you prefer to practice from home!).

Ready to claim your space for June 7th?
Drop a comment below with the word « VINYIN » and I’ll slide into your DMs to chat and send you the booking link directly.

Beat the autumn « slump » in under 30 minutes.

Do you find your energy dipping as soon as the afternoon shadows start to stretch? It’s a natural response to the season, but you don’t have to stay stuck in that heavy, sluggish feeling.

The Autumn Energy Booster Flow is your 29-minute reset. We skip the long, slow warm-ups and get straight into rhythmic, invigorating movement that builds heat and clears the cobwebs. It’s designed to leave you feeling vibrant and « awake » in your skin, rather than drained.

What’s inside:
- Heart-opening poses to boost mood
- Energizing twists to detoxify and reset
- 29 minutes of fluid, intentional Vinyasa
Perfect for a midday break or a pre-dinner pick-me-up.

The session is live now on Your Online Yoga Studio and ready whenever you need a lift.

The air is changing…

It’s May 19th, and while winter hasn’t officially arrived, you can feel that crisp shift in the Christchurch air. The evenings are pulling in earlier, and the temptation to just rush through our weekends is real.

But if your Sundays have started feeling less like a true day of rest and more like a stressful countdown to Monday... I made this for you.

Most of us don’t actually need more weekend time. We need a boundary. A literal line in the sand to protect our energy and anchor ourselves before the weekly rush takes over.

That is exactly why I created The Winter Sanctuary Series: A Sunday VinYin Ritual.

The Method: Why VinYin?
We don’t just sit down and try to force a racing mind to be still. Instead, we work with the body’s natural intelligence:
• 45 mins of Vinyasa: To build heat, move stagnant energy, and physically sweat out the accumulation of the week’s tension.
• 45 mins of Yin: Deep, floor-based stillness to soothe the nervous system, trigger deep restoration, and find absolute mental clarity.

It is effort followed by absolute ease, the perfect buffer between the weekend chaos and the Monday rush.

The Details:
🗓 Dates: Sundays — June 7, 14, 21, 28 & July 5, 19, 26 (Note: We take a mid-series pause on July 12)

🕓 Time:4:00pm – 5:30pm

📍 Where: In-person at Mt Pleasant Community Centre OR live via Zoom from your living room.

🎥 Replays: Every single session is recorded and available for 7 days.

Choose Your Path:
Whether you want a complete seasonal commitment or just a single, powerful reset when you need it most, you can choose the option that fits your life best:
• Full 7-Week Sanctuary Pass: $228 (Get one full session on me! )
• Single Sunday Reset: $38 casual drop-in

Because I want this to be a truly intimate, quiet, and deeply supportive space, the in-person container is strictly capped at 12 mats. Are you ready to join us for a single Sunday ritual, or the full 7-week journey?

🔗 Head to the link here: https://www.annepoyoga.com/train-with-me to secure your mat for June 7th, or send me a DM if you have any questions at all.

I can’t wait to welcome you in!!

5 minutes. That’s all it takes to come home to yourself.

Ever feel like your brain is running twenty different tabs at once? In the middle of the « holiday juggle » or a busy workday, our presence is often the first thing we lose.

The Mindful Pause Meditation is a 5-minute guided reset designed to pull you out of the « what-ifs » and back into the present moment. It’s short enough to do while the kettle boils, in your car before school pickup, or as a transition between work and home.

What’s inside:
- Guided grounding techniques
- Simple breath awareness
- 5 minutes of mental space and clarity
You don’t need to be an expert at « quieting the mind. » You just need to be willing to sit with yourself for a few minutes.

The meditation is live now on Your Online Yoga Studio.

A little something for the months ahead...

It’s May 12th, and while winter hasn’t officially arrived, you can feel the shift in the Christchurch air. The days are shortening, and the urge to move inward is growing.

I’m opening the doors today for something special I’ve been dreaming up, giving us plenty of time to prepare our space and our minds before we begin.

Introducing: The Winter Sanctuary Series — A Sunday VinYin Ritual.

We officially begin on Sunday, June 7th.

This isn’t just another yoga class. It’s a 7-week progressive journey designed to be your weekly anchor as we move through the heart of the colder months. By starting in June, we’re setting a rhythm that will carry us through to late July with stability and warmth.

Why VinYin? We start with 45 minutes of Vinyasa to build heat and shift the physical tension of the week, followed by 45 minutes of deep, floor-based Yin to soothe your nervous system and find mental clarity.

It’s effort followed by absolute ease.
The perfect boundary between the weekend and the Monday grind.

🗓 The Dates: Sundays: June 7, 14, 21, 28 & July 5, 19, 26 (Note: We take a mid-series pause on July 12)
🕓 Time:4:00pm – 5:30pm
📍 Where: Mt Pleasant Community Centre (limited to 12 spots!) OR live via Zoom.
🎥 Replays:Available for 7 days if you can’t make the live ritual.

The Investment: $228 for the full 7-week Sanctuary Pass (get one session free!) or $38 for a single Sunday reset.

I am intentionally keeping the in-person group intimate to ensure a supportive, quiet space for everyone.

Lately I have been thinking a lot about how strange it feels to run a small business in today’s world.

Everything moves so fast now. There is pressure to constantly create more, post more, keep up more, learn more, adapt more.

And sometimes behind all of that, it is easy to forget there are actual humans on the other side of small businesses.

People putting their energy, heart, time, creativity, and care into what they do every single day.

I honestly think one of the most beautiful things we can still do for each other is share genuine human experiences.

Not polished marketing or perfect branding, just:
“I loved this place.”
“This helped me.”
“This person made a difference for me.”

That kind of sharing still matters so much.

I know some of the places, teachers, cafés, dentists, artists, and businesses I love today were discovered simply because someone took the time to speak kindly about them.

So for National Small Business Day, this is just a little reminder that your words can genuinely help a small business continue to grow.

And that support does not always have to be financial 🤍
If there is a small business you love, leave them a review today or share them with someone else.

And if my classes or online studio have supported you in some way and you would like to support my work too, you can leave a review on my Google business page, the link is below:

Discover your morning « espresso shot » without the caffeine!

As the mornings get cooler, it’s so tempting to stay under the covers a little longer. But sometimes, all you need is 22 minutes to completely shift your energy from « sleepy and sluggish » to « clear and focused. »

I created the Express Autumn Awakening Flow for those days when your schedule is packed, but your body is craving movement. It’s a 22-minute Vinyasa designed to build gentle heat, stretch out the overnight stiffness, and help you land in your day feeling energized.

No more « I don’t have time for yoga » excuses! This session is now live on Your Online Yoga Studio.
