WHERE WE STARTED...
10 Years ago I made the decision to leave working at a busy gym in the city and venture off on my own.
Working at the gym meant pretty much living at the gym - building my business and helping clients reach their goals required me to be there for much of my days.
One day Laura Hall brought Quinn in to see me as it hadn't seen him much, and hadn't really been home for a while. He was just a toddler at the time.
To my amazement Quinn was standing. He was even dancing!
Apparently he had been doing this for a couple of weeks and I didn't even know.
It was at that point it hit me and changed my life. If I didn't get out of there I would miss many more milestones and the chance to do what I really love - being a dad.
So I took the leap of faith (and measuring tape and spray paint) and decided to build a gym in our backyard. For the sole purpose of being there for our kids in the years to come.
Three kids later, and It's a decision that I have never regretted, and I still wake up thankful.
It's meant that I have been able to do school pick-ups and drop-offs, attended assemblies, cross countries and other school events. It's also meant that I was able to go to weekly therapy sessions with our boy who has special needs, and be there for him while transitioning to school.
A huge thank you to Tyrone O'Halloran for helping to make this dream a reality, and for the hours you put in building the gym. - and to the others who helped out during the building process.
And thank you to all of my friends and family (especially Laura) for supporting me over the past 10 years
THE STUDIO
The studio is located in Bishopdale, Christchurch and has been operating for over 10 years.
We specialise in helping people who have never exercised before, or those who donโt want to join a gym, to start their health and fitness journey.
Our private Private Training Sessions are designed to make you feel at ease with exercise. You can choose to train One on One, or with a friend or family member, or find a group of friends to join you.
We have 4 Classes that run throughout the week that are suitable for all fitness levels.These Classes are there to complement your Private Workouts and keep you active throughout the week.
1) BurnZone Circuit
A Full body workout mixed with cardio and stretching
2) BoxZone
Kickboxing class to help you get fighting fit and looking lean
(great for stress too)
3) StrenghZone
Weight training with a focus on correct form and toning
4) Yoga
Taught by our wonderful Yoga instructor Samantha, our yoga classes area a mix of stretching, relaxation and restfulness.
No matter your goals, age or fitness levels we have something to help everyone.
With over 15 years experience in the industry, including a qualification and passion for Health Psychology, we have successfully helped people with:
