This week is Myopia Awareness Week! Lets shine a light on myopia (nearsightedness) and its impact on our kids' vision.

Did you know that myopia is on the rise globally, and nearly 30% of Kiwi kids may be affected by 2030? 😯

3 Facts about myopia:
🔹It causes blurry distance vision, making it hard to see far away objects clearly
🔹Spending more time outdoors can help reduce the risk of myopia in children
🔹Early detection through regular eye check-ups is key to managing it!

What can yo do?
- Encourage your kids to play outside for at least 2 hours a day
- Limit screen time and ensure good lighting when reading or studying
- Book an eye test with an optometrist to catch myopia early.

It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of our dear friend and colleague, Chris Hudson, this past weekend. With over 30 years of dedicated service to our team, she was not just a remarkable professional but also a cherished friend to many of us.
Chris brought joy, kindness, and unwavering support to our workplace. Her laughter and positive spirit touched everyone she encountered, and her contributions will forever be a part of our company’s legacy.
As we come to terms with this profound loss, let us remember the beautiful moments we shared with her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family during this difficult time.

Rest in peace Chris 💔

Our practices will be closed this coming Monday afternoon so our team can attend her farewell.
