Why diets just don't work...
Have you found yourself starting a new diet.... on Monday of course. You think to yourself I'm just going to cut out sugar, carbs, alcohol, chips, white bread etc for 4, 6, 8 weeks or however long the internet said for.
You do so well, you don't touch the cut out food/food group but you so desperately want to. What happens when that time period is up? You jump on the scales and go "oh yay, I've lost weight" so you reward yourself with just a little of whatever you cut out, you might be super diligent for a week or 2 after but then you notice yourself eating more and more and all of a sudden you are eating more than you did before. The weight creeps back on... so you think, "hey maybe I'll start again on Monday".
We've all done it! The quick fix is so appealing, however most often not the best solution.
