Question: Can I drink diet coke and lemonade during a fast?

Answer: No, because when you fast, toxins are released from your fat cells and have to be processed by the liver and kidneys. This means they have to work hard to eliminate them. If you add chemicals to the body while fasting, you are increasing the work these organs have to do. This can lead to health issues, including minor ones like fatigue and nausea, right through to organ damage.
