Rangatahi Success Story – Tristan’s Journey Whanau Ora ✨

Tristan first engaged with Whanau Ora services and the Tuia Rangatahi programme seeking support to develop a clear pathway into employment or further education. At the time, he was motivated but unsure of his next steps.
Through his participation in our services, Tristan explored his interests and strengths and made the decision to pursue further training. He was successfully accepted into the Building & Construction Level 3 course in Whangārei, where he committed himself to his studies and proudly graduated with his certificate.

Following the completion of his qualification, Tristan connected with our Whānau Ora kaiwhiriwhiri to continue building momentum toward sustainable employment. During this hui, clear goals were identified and a practical plan was developed:

Attend learner licence workshops to obtain his learner licence.
Receive support with CV development and job applications.

With guidance and encouragement from his kaiwhiriwhiri, Allistar, Tristan completed a professional CV and began applying for roles aligned with his new qualification. Shortly after, he secured an interview opportunity.
Tristan then received a follow-up call from Silver Fern Farms inviting him to progress further in their recruitment process. After completing his interview, he was successfully offered a full-time position.

Today, Tristan is thriving in his new mahi. He is proud, grateful, and motivated by the stability and income his employment provides. He acknowledges the support and encouragement from his Kaiwhiriwhiri, Allistar, who walked alongside him throughout his journey into employment.
Tristan now has just one final goal remaining on his Whānau Ora plan — gaining his learner licence — which will further strengthen his independence and employment opportunities.

Introducing and congratulating Charleen Waiti, our new Chief Human Resources Officer at Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Whātua💫

Charleen joined our organisation late last year and soon after acheived the brilliant accomplishment of becoming a Chartered Member of HRNZ! Ka Rawe Charlene🌟

Motivated by her whānau and a desire to keep raising the standard of HR in Aotearoa, Charlene pursued this accreditation with pride and purpose.”
