ANZAC DAY | APRIL 25

ANZAC refers to the soldiers from New Zealand and Australia who served in the Australian & New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) during the First World War and were initially formed in 1915 to participate in the Gallipoli invasion. Over 100,000 New Zealanders served in World War I, with more than 18,000 losing their lives and around 41,000 listed as injured.

Anzac Day is held annually on this day as a national day of remembrance to commemorate those who served and those who died in all international wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations.

MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS WEEK

Community plays a vital role in our well-being, whether it's enjoying a weekend walk with friends, catching at a local cafe, or simply spending time with loved ones. In an age where feelings of loneliness and isolation are increasingly common, staying connected with others is more crucial than ever. Meaningful relationships not only provide us with a sense of belonging, but they also foster emotional support, reduce stress, and enhance our overall happiness.

Mental Health Awareness Week is about taking time to make it a priority to strengthen our connections—both old and new—and show up for one another. Together, we can create a more supportive and compassionate environment for everyone.

OLYMPIC CHALLENGE

During the Olympics, members participated in these various events listed below. All entries were overseen by a staff member to ensure all was fair. Each event had basic rules to follow:

• 500m Row – Distance pre-set on rower to calculate exact time when member reached 500m mark
• 200m Shuttle – 2x markers set in studio, 10m apart. Fastest time to do 20 runs between them (20x 10m = 200m)
• Push Ups – Full range – chest to floor and full arm extension at top. No rest in-between.
• Pull Ups – Full range – over hand grip, chin above bar, full extension at base. No rest in-between.
• Wall Sit – 90 degree angle at knee. No hands on knees/ legs
• Dead Hang – Over hand grip
