I used to have Eczema.
In 2013 I underwent treatment for breast cancer, grade 3 triple negative, an aggressive form. Following the treatment suddenly I had eczema around my midriff that simply would not go away, despite treating it with steroid creams of varying strengths.
So I researched. Soaps, diet, laundry powders, the works.
I tried various soaps available on the market, but none helped. I looked at buying handmade soaps, but many included palm oil, fragrance oils, or clays. These are all either drying, or irritants. I thought why don't I make my own, to which I could add my own preferred oils. So I researched. I rubbed oils directly on my skin, feeling how they felt, and how they sat on the skin etc.
Through trial and practice I made my soaps and my skin healed, and haven't looked back since. I included almond oil which is very moisturising and high in Vitamin E.
And then I offered them for sale in 2019, and haven't looked back.
Through time I adapted my original recipe, adding mango butter which is lightweight, silky smooth, and is incredible in moisturising the skin, while it strengthens the skins natural protective barrier. It is beneficial for sensitive skin, Eczema and Psoriasis, where dry, itchy, and inflamed skin can be a challenge to treat. I improved on something that was great, making it even better.
So today I bring to you a lovely collection of soaps, that feel silky, fully of moisturising goodness. Including our ever popular Kawakawa soap, where I grow my own plants, incorporating them into the soap every way possible for full benefit.
