Temet Nosce - Latin Proverb, means 'Know Thyself"
Well I don't know about you, one can't help but reflect, to look within, to 'Know Thyself".
I am grateful I am here now, another eventful cancer journey could well be past me, but I am here now. About to open Hippy Soap Co again. Little did I know 2 years ago it was why I was in so much pain, and so unwell why I closed the doors.
During my recovery I reflected on how I ran Hippy Soaps Co. I thought of how I would do things differently, how to run it more stress free. And it really got me thinking. Making salves was a nice gesture, but it had to be made on the spot, as unlike soaps it had a limited shelf life, so was more stress making it then trying to get the order out in a timely manner. I also thought of better ways of sending the orders, how it was presented etc. A lower cost courier who was more upfront in costs, etc etc. So I decided to open again, started buying what was needed, started making all new soaps, that of course smell divine.
Last year our section flooded, the second time since we took over the tenancy, we have been here 10 years now. I had 7 Kawakawa plants, some in the ground, others in containers. Kawakawa plants don't like the frost, this year we have had much colder temperatures that have damaged plants that had thrived well in the past. We have lost one plant, and three have serious damage. The two in containers have been affected to a lesser degree. Due to this we will not be making Kawakawa soap.
Stress less. Breathe.
I look forward with grace and gratitude, to better things, to hopefully many more years to enjoy this mad thing called life.
