The new Rangiora Medical facility will have doctors, nurses and a full radiology service on site so patients don't have to travel all the way to Christchurch for broken bones or urgent care.

If you are a patient at Saddle View Health Centre, Milton Medical Centre, Gardens Medical Centre, Meridian Medical Centre, Cromwell Medical Centre, Invercargill Medical Centre, South City Medical, East Otago Health you may be eligible for a free flu vaccination.

If you’re Māori, Pacific, or a former refugee aged 50 or older in Otago and Southland your vaccination is free. In addition, the flu vaccine is free for people at higher risk of getting very sick, including:
People aged 65 years and over
People aged 6 months and over who have a long-term medical condition like diabetes, asthma, or a heart condition
Pregnant people
Tamariki (children) aged 4 years and under who have been hospitalised for respiratory illness, or have a history of significant respiratory illness
People with mental health conditions, including schizophrenia, major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, or schizoaffective disorder
People who are currently accessing secondary or tertiary mental health and addiction services.

Aotearoa New Zealand is at a very high risk of a measles outbreak. Measles cases are rising worldwide, increasing the risk of an infected person bringing measles into the country.

Measles symptoms include a fever, cough, runny nose, sore and watery pink eyes and then a rash.

If you suspect you may have measles please phone your healthcare provider and we will discuss some precautions we need to take when you arrive.
