We currently the below spaces available in our classes;
- 2x spot in Monday 6pm
- 3x spots in Wednesday 6pm
- 1x spot in Friday 2pm
- 3x spots in Saturday 12pm

All classes can also be waitlisted.

All classes are limited to 5 participants and are fully supervised by one of our Instructors and adapted to meet the level of the participants.

All classes require new participants to undertake a 30 minute Intro and Screening session prior to attending.

Classes are sold as packs of 6 for $174.
Casual & members rates are also available.

‼ Our Studio Pilates Class is BACK ‼

Want to try something other than Reformer classes and get the WHOLE Pilates Apparatus experience❓

You will perform a series of exercises, supported, assisted and expertly guided by our qualified Pilates Instructor & Physiotherapist Kate Doig.

Get to know the Trapeze Table, Pilates Chair, Ladder Barrell, Spine corrector and Reformer and utilise ALL aspects of our Pilates Studio equipment.

Enjoy a small group experience with no more than 4 participants in each class and rest assured that you will be well looked after and each class will be tailored specifically to those attending.

Mermaid on the Chair is a beginner-intermediate exercise, which focuses on the Pilates principle of Spine articulation. In this instance into side flexion. This exercise is primarily focusing on the mobility of the lateral spine, hips and shoulders. The resistance of the spring on the chair pedals also makes this an exercise for scapular stability while also providing feedback for upper extremity organisation. It challenges biomechanical alignment of the spine, pelvis along with co-ordination of the upper body and shoulders.

Mermaid is a great exercise for anyone but especially for those who want to improve the mobility of the spine, decreasing hip and low back tension and developing pelvic stability with dissociation of the torso.

Tips:
- Keep pelvis aligned and seat bones evenly weighted throughout.
- Aim to grow the spine out of the pelvis into the spine extension, keeping the alignment of ear, shoulder, hip when viewed at the side.

Avoid:
- Losing the weight in the opposing hip, aiming to keep the pelvis evenly weighted.
- Allowing the ribcage to ‘flare’ or translate to the side, compression the spine rather than lengthening into side flexion.
