In Loving Memory of Dr Chris Pearson,

It is with deep sadness that we share the sudden and unexpected passing of Dr Chris Pearson, who died in Cape Town ahead of the International Federation of Surveyors (FIG) conference in his role as a Geodetic Advisor for Trimble and co-chair for FIG Commission 5.2.

Chris was a highly respected professional, admired for his expertise, dedication, and passion for his work. His contributions to the field were significant, and he was deeply valued by colleagues and peers in New Zealand and around the world. Beyond his professional achievements, Chris was an active member in a number of professional and community organisations, in particular his long-standing membership of the Otago Tramping & Mountaineering Club and in particular his conservation advocacy through tenure review.

At this difficult time, our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with his wife Kathy, his rock for the last 35+ years, his children Nelson & Rose, and his brother David, as well as other family, friends and loved ones. We hope they find comfort in the many memories shared and in the knowledge that Chris made a lasting difference in both his professional and personal life.

Details of a funeral service for Chris will be shared in due course.

As a tribute to Chris, a Memory Tree has been created for family & friends to share messages, clickthe below link to access the page:
