💜 Here's Daniel - the driving force behind our Relay For Life team

Daniel, one of our physiotherapists, helped organise the Consultancy House Clinic team for Relay For Life Dunedin this year – bringing a great group of staff together for a cause that means a lot to him.

Like many, this event hits close to home. That’s what inspired Daniel to get involved and rally the team, and we’re really proud to see so many of our staff getting behind it.

As we prepare for the day, we’re also continuing our fundraising for the Cancer Society.

If you’re able to support our team, we would be incredibly grateful for your contribution. 💙

Meet Alice Laws – Osteopath & Pilates Instructor ⭐

Alice brings a warm, movement-focused approach to her work at Consultancy House Clinic, blending her skills as an Osteopath and Pilates Instructor.

Originally from Sydney, Alice's own sporting injuries sparked a lifelong curiosity about how the body works — a passion that led her to Osteopathy and to Dunedin, where she's been based since 2005.

She has a particular interest in supporting women through pregnancy, post-partum recovery, and breast cancer rehabilitation, as well as working with newborns in their early months.

Her gentle, hands-on care is complemented by movement-based strategies drawn from her Pilates training — helping you not just recover, but move better.

If you’d like to book a session with Alice, our reception team can help you get started.

💜We’re stepping up & taking part in Relay For Life Dunedin💜

At Consultancy House Clinic, supporting the well-being of our community is at the heart of what we do. Many of us have seen firsthand how cancer touches families, friends and colleagues, which is why we’re coming together to take part in Relay For Life Dunedin on 2 May 2026.

With a large team getting involved this year — our Physiotherapists, Osteopaths, Acupuncturists, Massage Therapists, Pilates Instructors and reception staff — we’re proud to stand alongside the wider Dunedin community, a reminder that no one faces cancer alone.

We know many other local businesses will be stepping up too — are you in?

1 in 3 New Zealanders will face cancer in their lifetime. The Cancer Society receives no government funding for essential services like transport to treatment, accommodation and counselling. These services exist because organisations and individuals step forward.

Cancer Society Dunedin is aiming to raise $200,000 to fund local cancer support services.

Your body wasn’t designed to sit for 8 hours straight – and it often shows up when you stand up, stretch, or try to move after a long day at your desk. 🙃

Long periods of sitting can leave the hips feeling tight, especially through the hip flexors, and many people notice general stiffness or reduced mobility by the end of the day.

Mini mobility breaks during your workday can help keep things moving. Try adding a few of these throughout your day:
🧍🏻 Switch to standing for 20–30 minutes at a time
🙆 Stretch it out – a gentle neck stretch, chest opener or hip flexor stretch takes about 60 seconds
📞 Walk while you're on a call – no one needs to know
🏋️ Do a few squats between tasks
🌿 Step outside for 5 minutes – fresh air counts as self-care
🪜 Take the stairs whenever you get the chance

Small movement breaks throughout the day can help you stay more comfortable at your desk.

If stiffness, tightness or limited movement is becoming hard to manage on your own, our team can provide professional assessment and guidance.

📞 Call 03 477 7746 or text via WhatsApp +64 22 196 5968 to book an appointment.

🎉 Meet Eve – our newest physiotherapist at Consultancy House Clinic!

Eve joins us with a background as rich as her approach to patient care. Waikato-raised and having spent a decade on the Australian Gold Coast, she returned to Aotearoa to complete her physiotherapy training at the University of Otago – inspired by her grandmother, who graduated from the very same school.

A qualified Hatha and Yin yoga instructor, Eve taught at Unipol throughout her studies and continues to run community yoga classes in Port Chalmers. That movement background is central to how she works – focusing on motor control, body awareness, and postural stability to help patients move well for life.

Beyond the clinic, Eve runs workshops around Aotearoa connecting conscious movement and interoceptive awareness with pain self-management, often weaving into Aotearoa's arts and music scene along the way.

We're thrilled to have her on the team.
📅 Book in with Eve by calling 477 7746 or text via WhatsApp +64 22 196 5968

Meet Collin – the latest addition to our growing team! 🎉

Originally from Austin, Texas, Collin's path into acupuncture is a personal one. After years of chronic pain with no relief from medication or surgery, he turned to acupuncture as a last resort – and drove home from that very first session with a huge smile on his face. That experience changed everything, and many years and adventures later, he completed a Bachelor of Health Science in Acupuncture at the New Zealand School of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Since graduating, Collin has worked in private clinics in Central Dunedin and Palmerston and has run community acupuncture clinics in Waitati and Karitane. Now back in Dunedin to be closer to his brother, sister-in-law, and their four kids – including a set of triplets who have just turned five – we're so glad he's found a home with us! Uncle duties are clearly well established, with over 1,000 nappy changes to prove it. 🍼

A gentler approach to acupuncture – Collin’s approach centres on gentle Japanese acupuncture techniques, known for their finer needles and lighter, more precise touch. This softer style focuses on careful needle placement and subtle technique, offering a calm and measured treatment experience. He also incorporates auricular (ear) acupuncture and warming moxibustion where appropriate.

He works with a wide range of people and has a particular soft spot for those who arrive at acupuncture uncertain – having walked that path himself, he understands exactly how they feel. 🙏

When he's not in the clinic, you'll find him surfing, climbing, growing food, or making music. 🌱🎵

Collin is now taking bookings – no GP referral needed. Simply get in touch with the clinic to make an appointment. We can't wait for you to meet him! 👋
