As part of The Big Shout Out this month we want to take a moment to celebrate and thank each and every one of our wonderful volunteers. Your time, passion, and dedication are the backbone of our mahi and you all make such a meaningful difference in the lives of rangatahi within our community and Aotearoa.

Last Friday our General Manager, Justine Weatherall was presented with a $5,000 donation from the Otago Tribal Nations MC. This was raised through a variety of fundraising efforts, including raffles and the annual RATS (Riders Against Teen Su***de) bike ride, concluding in Oamaru this year on the 2nd November. We are extremely grateful for this generous donation and this will go a long way to supporting the mahi that Youthline Otago does supporting rangatahi throughout Otago. These funds will specifically go to supporting our Counselling at Oamaru Intermediate.

Supporting Our Young People

Formed in 1971, Youthline Otago has been serving our community and supporting our young people ever since. We are committed to offering accessible, non-judgemental services focussed on the needs of young people to the Dunedin and wider Otago area including Palmerston, Waitaki, Central Lakes District, and Oamaru. Our mission is to support and empower our local young people to develop the skills they need to grow and live healthy fulfilled lives.

Our services include staffing the national helpline and providing accessible and affordable face to face counselling, in addition to training and community education programmes. Our team consists of volunteers, office staff, trained counsellors, management, and board members. We are proud to have a strong community of volunteers contributing significantly to the wellbeing of rangatahi in ÅŒtepoti.

We are always looking for new volunteers and there a variety of ways to get involved and contribute; if you’re interested we’d love to hear from you! Get in touch to find out more and show your support by liking our page or making a donation to help us reach those who need our services.
