Studio Spotlight! Meet the wonderful Debbie! 📣

“My journey in the hot yoga studio began in January 2024, following a workplace accident that left me with a right lumbar and thoracic sprain. Recovery was slow and frustrating and despite my best efforts with standard rehabilitation, I still felt limited in my mobility and strength. It was my physiotherapist who first suggested I try hot yoga as a complementary therapy to aid my recovery.

Initially I was apprehensive about the heat and not being fit enough to take part, so I joined the entry level month trial trying all modalities offered in March 2024. Oddly, my initial apprehension about the heat and fitness were squashed quickly. In fact, the heat helped recovery, warmed up ligaments, muscles and joints, enabling pain free movement and achieved stretches I thought previously impossible to achieve.

The Hot Yoga teaching team are an amazing, supportive bunch generously sharing their skills, knowledge, humour and compassion with just the right mix of crazy fun.

One of the Mantras re-iterated at the end of Inferno classes I have found helpful is, “work with the body you have today, know you gave it your all with your best self. Know you are enough.” I have learned to accept myself and know I give each class my all with confidence. The sense of community and camaraderie created in the studio makes for a positive, welcoming environment to train in.
