Yoga offers many benefits to health and well being hence a huge growth of yoga practice is occurring worldwide. Recent research from the Justice Trauma Centre in Boston supports the use of Trauma sensitive Yoga as an adjunctive treatment option for complex trauma. http://www.traumacenter.org/research/Yoga_Study.php
Trauma Sensitive Yoga informs my regular classes, a gentle style which allows for the person's wisdom to decide what works for them and the development of interoception (noticing what the body feels like in different forms.) I am a 200 level Yoga Alliance accredited yoga teacher and have completed Trauma Sensitive Yoga training with David Emerson Jen Philips and Dr bessel van der Kolk from the JRI Trauma Centre Boston USA. I intend to offer Trauma Sensitive Yoga to groups who have experienced trauma in their lives in the community in 2016.
