🌸 Exciting news! 🌸

I’m so happy to introduce our new Foot Therapist, Kerry French, who has joined our team here at Footwork!

Many of you will already know Kerry from her years running French Beauty & Nails at the back of McCrae’s Pharmacy. Over the years I’ve been hugely impressed by her beautiful work, her care for clients, and her skill in managing some really tricky nails.

Kerry will be offering foot care appointments for those who don’t necessarily need to see a podiatrist every time — perfect for regular maintenance, nail and skin care, and keeping feet feeling their best.

It’s such a joy to have her on board — welcome, Kerry! 💙👣

🌸 Farewell & Thank You 🌸

Debi has made the decision to retire, and this Thursday will be her last day with us at the clinic. She has been such a wonderful part of our team, caring for many of our clients with kindness, warmth, and dedication. 💙

We thank Debi sincerely for everything she has brought to our clinic and wish her every happiness in her retirement.

In the meantime, we’re very fortunate to have Kim helping us as a Foot Therapist, so our fabulous foot therapy service will continue to be provided at Footwork without interruption while we arrange a permanent replacement. 👣

🧦❄️ Winter Foot Care Tips from Footwork Podiatry ❄️🧦

Winter is here – and so are cold feet, cracked heels, and stubborn chilblains! Keep your feet happy and healthy this season with these simple tips:

👣 Keep Them Dry – Moisture from wet shoes or socks can lead to fungal infections. Always dry between your toes and wear moisture-wicking socks.

🧼 Moisturise Daily – Cold weather dries out the skin. Apply a thick heel balm or foot cream at night to prevent cracks and rough skin.

🧤 Warm, But Not Tight – Avoid tight shoes and socks that restrict circulation. Wool socks are great for warmth and breathability.

🛁 Avoid Hot Soaks – Tempting as it is, soaking in hot water can make dry skin worse. Go for lukewarm water instead and dry thoroughly.

🥶 Chilblains? – If you’re prone to itchy, red, or swollen toes in the cold, come see us. We can help manage symptoms and prevent recurrence.

👟 Winter Footwear Check – Make sure your winter shoes support your arches, have enough room for warm socks, and have good grip for slippery paths.

🎉 10 Years of Footwork – Thank You! 👣💚

Last night we celebrated 10 years since I first opened the doors to my little podiatry clinic, thinking it would be a part-time gig while the kids were small. I could never have imagined what it would grow into — and I’m feeling deeply grateful as I look back.

To our incredible community here in Feilding and beyond: thank you. You’ve trusted us with your care, supported a local clinic, and helped us grow with every kind word, referral, and friendly face through the door. Your support has meant the world.

To the amazing staff who’ve been part of the Footwork journey over the years — your dedication, warmth, and professionalism have shaped this clinic into something truly special. It’s never just been about feet — it’s about people. And I’ve been lucky to work alongside some of the best.

And to the wonderful local businesses we’ve worked closely with, thank you for the collaborative care and shared commitment to helping people move well and feel good.

❄️⚽ Winter Sports and Sore Feet?
If your child is limping off the field, sitting out more often, or complaining their feet or heels are sore after training—it’s not just part of the game.

Winter sports like rugby, netball, hockey and football can put a lot of stress on growing feet. Common causes of pain include:
👟 Worn-out or poorly fitted boots/shoes
🦴 Sever’s disease (common heel pain in active kids)
⚖️ Biomechanical issues
⛹️‍♀️ Overuse injuries from repetitive movement and hard surfaces
