My Experience
My experience with fitness and nutrition is a combination of study and learning what works from real life experience. It's with this knowledge and experience I want to try and help you reach your fitness and nutrition goals through a combination of personal consultations and tailored plans.
A passion for food
Having transformed myself through food and lifestyle changes, I have a huge belief, that food is one of the most powerful (and accessible) drugs we have available to us. What we put into our bodies helps to form not only how we look but also how we feel and perform.
In a world where we have never had better access to food, instead of getting healthier, we are getting sicker. This is why I want to share my knowledge and personal experiences with you. Excuses aside, we all have the power to change our lifestyle and heal a number of our ailments, from the inside out.
My (real life) story
I love food, which combined with mainstream dietary advice lead to some very chubby teenage years. University saw me try and out-exercise a high carbohydrate, low fat diet and fail. A few symptoms I had included feeling tired, fatigued, a lack of concentration, constant hunger, bad skin and (quite) a few extra kilos...
Following a considerable number of fitness and nutrition revelations and lifestyle changes, I seem to have found a pretty good balance. I have great energy (sometimes too much) and am considerably fitter and healthier than I was ten years ago. Regularly being asked what I eat and how I exercise has meant I have naturally come to talk about fitness and nutrition on a daily basis. Having helped friends and colleagues along the way means that giving simple and easy fitness and nutrition advice comes naturally.
My credentials
At university I studied the geographies of health and obesity and how the world around us can have an incredible affect on our health. Everything from our ancestry and family background, to our income and even whether or not we live in a city or the countryside, can have a hugely profound impact on our health.
To expand on this knowledge I studied with the Institute of Integrative Nutrition which equips you with a background in hundreds of different dietary theories. From fad diets to practices steeped in thousands of years of tradition from a number of the world's leading thinkers, scientists and athletes. All this academic knowledge combines with a passion for health, fitness and real life experience.
