💗 STANDING TOGETHER AGAINST BULLYING 👚
Today, Dr Roland, Lucy, Anna, Aimee, Katie, Michelle, and the rest of the 4PeakHealth team are proud to support Pink Shirt Day.
Unfortunately, bullying is still far too common in our schools, workplaces, online spaces, and communities. And that’s not okay.
The impact is real:
💬 7 in 10 teens in NZ have experienced at least one type of unwanted digital communication in the past year.
📱 19% of NZ teens have experienced an unwanted digital communication that negatively affected their daily activities.
🧠 High school students who had been bullied weekly or more often were four times more likely to experience significant depressive symptoms.
🏢 1 in 5 workers have experienced bullying behaviour frequently in the past 12 months.
💻 The estimated societal cost of cyberbullying in New Zealand is $1,071m a year.
Pink Shirt Day is about taking bullying seriously, celebrating diversity in all its forms, and helping our schools, workplaces, whānau, and communities feel safe, supportive, welcoming, and inclusive.
It’s a reminder that we all have a role to play.
Whether it’s calling out unkind behaviour, supporting someone who feels excluded, or choosing words that build people up, small actions can help create real change.
