Huringa Pai - Whanau living healthy longer

Huringa Pai - Whanau living healthy longer Making a stand against our whanau dying too young! We want to kill prediabetes so its complications can stop killing our whanau!

Huringa Pai Charitable Trust aspires to make a profound impact on the health and well-being of Tairawhiti's diverse community. Our mission is to narrow the statistic that indigenous people die 10 years younger than non-indigenous individuals by combating high rates of prediabetes and diabetes. We focus particularly on Pacific Island, Indian, and Māori populations, who are disproportionately affect

ed by these conditions according to the New Zealand Virtual Diabetes Register for Tairawhiti. Our project offers free, world-class activities and fitness sessions to help combat prediabetes and diabetes. By removing financial barriers and promoting an inclusive environment, we support health and well-being for all. Community involvement is at the core of our initiative. Our programs are shaped by direct input from local whānau, ensuring cultural relevance and sustainability. This participatory approach fosters unity, cultural integrity, and active engagement while empowering individuals through education on diabetes prevention and self-care, fostering ownership and responsibility for health outcomes. Funding will ensure the sustainability and expansion of our outreach, making our programs accessible to more community members. This community-led model significantly reduces health inequities by providing equal access to quality health resources, particularly for vulnerable populations. Aligned with Tu Maori Mai, Kaitiakitanga, and Mana Taurite, we promote Māori health aspirations, shared responsibility for well-being, and equity. Your support will help us enhance our capacity to serve, educate, and uplift the community, ensuring lasting health equity and empowerment for Tairawhiti’s residents. Huringa Pai has already helped approximately 5,000 people improve their health through various programs and initiatives, driven by the philosophy of "for the whānau by the whānau." Your support will continue to create a healthier and more united community.

💚 Invest in Your Health. Invest in Your Whānau. 💚

Our Fit3D Body Scans are now $20 per scan. Use this link to book your scan https://app.acuityscheduling.com/schedule.php?owner=26575214 (Instagram link in bio)

This is the first price increase we’ve made — and it wasn’t an easy decision. As a charitable trust serving our Tairāwhiti community, we’ve had to adjust the price slightly to help sustain our programmes and continue supporting whānau to live healthy longer.

But here’s the good news 👇

🔥 COMMITMENT PACKAGE: 4 + 1 FREE 🔥
Purchase a 4-scan package and receive your 5th scan FREE.

That means:
✔ Track your progress properly
✔ Stay accountable
✔ See real body composition changes over time
✔ Save money while investing in your health

Fit3D isn’t just about weight — it gives you detailed insights into:
• Body fat percentage
• Muscle mass
• Visceral fat
• Posture & balance
• Circumference measurements
• Progress comparisons over time

If you’re serious about improving your health in 2026, this is one of the most powerful tools to keep you motivated and informed.

Every scan you book directly supports the sustainability of Huringa Pai Charitable Trust and helps us continue empowering whānau across our community. 💚

📲 Single scans and packages are available now via our online booking site.
Book today and take ownership of your health journey.

We’re proud to celebrate our Manager, Sione Uhaone, who has successfully completed a Certificate of Proficiency in Pacific Nutrition 👏

This achievement strengthens our kaupapa of supporting whānau to live healthy, longer lives—grounded in Pacific values, culture, and evidence-based nutrition knowledge. Sione’s commitment to continuous learning directly enhances how we serve our community and walk alongside whānau on their wellbeing journeys.

🌿 Whānau Fitness Update 🌿

Kia ora whānau, we wanted to share a quick update regarding our Whānau Fitness sessions at Ilminster School gym.

We are currently working closely with Ilminster School to confirm the days and times for our sessions. There are six community groups supported by the school who share access to the gym, and all groups are working together to finalise a schedule that works for everyone.

As soon as the arrangements are confirmed, we will post the exact days and times on this page.

Thank you for your patience and understanding, and our sincere apologies for the lateness of this update. We truly appreciate the way our community continues to support one another 🙏

We’re looking forward to getting back together and moving as whānau again 💪💚
